I have returned from my northern adventures and am getting back in the saddle again.

We've had an exciting period of Alamaze development, and ironically, virtually all that progress independent of the Creator. The amazing new Valhalla, the awesome new order checking and web order entry ready to go live to all very soon, and spunky players starting their own game sign up threads and naming rules for the game. Thanks so much to Cipher, Uncle Mike, and Lord Diamond for really incredible and self-motivated work to bring Alamaze to a new level.

Now its time for me to gear up. So I come back and see maybe four or five games waiting to get started, but I know the 17-20 changes I am working on can soon be transmutated by alchemy to the form Cipher can use to do his own magic. In other words, I don't want to keep players waiting in the queue, but I also don't want new games to miss out on what is about to become the standard, and have quite a few of those reflected in the kingdom dossiers rather than less formally discovered.

I see many of the games waiting to form are the same - AESR with slight variations. If enough players just don't want to wait, maybe withdraw from your existing game thread and start a new thread for Emergency AESR and we'll get that created before the changes. Otherwise, hang in there. (Maybe a week?)

I'll post more on the upcoming changes, hopefully by Monday morning or so. The 565 and a few other mainly military changes will be held off for a new scenario as they do change the complexion of Alamaze pretty significantly. So with this batch of changes we will likely draw to a close development for Classic, everything subsequent will fall under a new moniker.

Again, exciting times, with more right around the corner. As you likely know, most players that are on hiatus were waiting for the web order entry and checking. If those are your friends, or you have other friends waiting for some development like this to simplify order entry, please tell them the time is neigh.

I'll switch from the DW to the WI - partly because I wanted to try out the new 565 but also because it turns out that's the one position I never played in an individual game. Bonus - Dusi is the Giant!
