Brek the trade is on

The only thing I plan to trade at the moment is dead bodies of kidnapped Cimerians but I think it's unfair to slap a 'no trade' clause in mid-game. All trading is happening openly and the players are putting out offers and not restricting it to any one player. Nobody's close to winning and I'd trade with anybody but the CI if I happened to have a bunch of extra food.
I really don't see how trading is an alliance, especially at fair terms. It would be one thing if a player was sending somebody else a bunch of stuff for one gold or one food, but the sums being traded are quite reasonable.

I will trade with you, dear Dupont. Your troops suck balls. -CI

CI- All
As for the rest of this, don't you think that Don Corleone said it best "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer"?

This is an Ice age game special format that heavily favors specific kingdoms, there is a reason the RD was chosen last it eats a TON of food, now some of you who are fine in the format, either because you have undead troops who consume no food or special artifacts that triple your food, want to say I'm not allowed to buy, thats ridiculous.  I do not have mages capable of bounty.  I am no where near the SO. or CI with whom I have traded and will continue to trade or anyone else for that matter.  Play your kingdoms.

It Seems that some people did not understand the format or simply decided to ignore it.  Having one trading partner for more than half the game constitutes  an alliance.   That is not allowed in this format.  Because of these abuses the format needs to be changed to prevent abuses in the future.

Prior to the start of the game the RD kingdom was discussed extensively as a bad choice of kingdom for this format.  You decided to play them anyway.  Perhaps because you intended on bending/breaking the rules from the start of the game.

As for distance between kingdoms, it is an irrelevant fact.  You can trade with anyone on the board, distance does not matter.

RE: 5481 Ice Age Summertime - Senior Tactician - 08-23-2020

I was in a game with my real life friend, Agent Orange, he was the RD, I was the HA.  I traded with him regularly, not because we were buds, but because he was the RD and I was the HA.  I was not happy when he won, I didn't expect him to win, I simply underestimated him and overestimated his opponents (thanks Dupont).

The point is trading is not alliance.  You don't trade with someone to benefit them, you do it to benefit yourself, and you hope that you are getting the better end of the deal.  In that game I was working towards putting myself in a position to stop wins (because they almost always include a single city), and I was close, but not close enough.  I had a big enough army, just couldn't get it there in time.

I would have traded with anyone, by the way, and was begging for trades from everyone for the entire game.  As it seems like is true in this game.

I intended on trading with anyone that wants it, as the format dictates explicitly. Had the format said trading allowed for one season only, i would do that. Your insinuations of bending nonxexistant rules are funny.  Hope to smash your kingdom soon. Or trade with you over multiple seasons. XOXO

Actually the arguably best person in the game said it was a good kingdom and said so in the game thread so I gave it a try, mostly because it was going to be a win quick or burn out.
I'm done arguing with you Canticar, you seem to one of very few that thinks trading at fair prices is somehow lying distrustful, breaking the rules whatever, its simply not.  You have a kingdom ripe for kicking ass with being able to teleport anywhere on the map, armies that require no food and hell you even have the jump on invading me in Mythgar  as  I was engaged with another in Untamed (good tactic, and fairly done no complaints) and now you come to the boards complaining about trades.   Anyways, I'm sorry you feel you have somehow been slighted or I have broken the rules but I haven't.

I have never done this before, but if someone needs 30,000 food let me know and state your terms.

I don't think we are allowed to communicate this turn.

RE: 5481 Ice Age Summertime - Windstar - 08-25-2020

Sorry. Me bad. Please ignore this post. I thought that it was communication every turn because there was no late season like we do in a number of other games.
