Dear Alamaze Community,

I'm excited to share with you some of the future developments for our game. Your support, through both play and donations, has been invaluable, and I want to give you a glimpse into the ongoing work behind the scenes.

Our team, including Mike, has been diligently improving our current system. A significant motivation for acquiring Alamaze was its untapped potential, which we've been actively developing. Our aim is to make the game more accessible to everyone by lowering the entry threshold. This involves revamping the existing code and platform to enable gameplay on various devices like phones, iPads, and computers, thus allowing for easier manipulation of game elements and automating more actions in the background.

To support these enhancements, I'm planning to invest in a new server that offers greater power and bandwidth. This upgrade will facilitate the addition of new content, such as maps, troops, and kingdoms, and pave the way for introducing more games beyond Alamaze.

I’ve attached a few screenshots to offer you a sneak peek at the tools and improvements we're implementing. Your feedback is always welcome, so please feel free to send any questions my way.

I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed financially, with special gratitude to those who have donated multiple times. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. While Alamaze currently costs around $250 monthly to maintain, I anticipate that these new investments will reduce the running costs to below $50. The acquisition of new hardware in the upcoming month will be a significant step in this direction.

Our goal is to keep Alamaze as accessible and enjoyable as possible until we're ready to introduce a new pricing model—this will only occur once we've expanded our player base and further developed the community to a point where we all feel confident in the game’s value and offerings.

Here are some examples of the tools that will be part of the "New" Alamaze experience.

Best regards,

Mike and I are working on an update to Alamaze which has been slow in coming, but I think you will enjoy.

Finally some of you know an Alamaze II is underway behind the scenes, one that will have all the elements of a PBM (Alamaze to start) but with the ability to move troops, emmisaries, agents etc on a phone, computer or tablet. It will also allow for more maps!

Dear Alamaze Community,

It's been a while since we last had an update, and I wanted to share some exciting news with you. I'm currently collaborating with UncleMike on a new update for Alamaze. While it may not be the flashiest update, my goal is to address areas that often confuse new players and fix various issues. I'm also taking into account the valuable feedback you've provided.

Given the extensive list of improvements and changes, this update might need to be broken down into multiple parts. Please bear with me as I work through this process. I may make some mistakes along the way, and your most crucial suggestions might not make it into this initial update. However, I want you to know that I'm committed to making Alamaze a better place and more accessible to newcomers.

I have a special request from the community that would greatly assist in this effort. Could each of you share a brief write-up of the advice you often find yourself giving to new players? I'm aiming to create a quick start guide, building upon the foundation Senior Tac has already provided. Your insights will be invaluable in achieving this goal.

Thank you for your continued support and patience. I'll keep you updated on the progress of the update as I gather more information.

Best regards,

It's been a while since we last had an update, and I wanted to share some exciting news with you. I'm currently collaborating with UncleMike on a new update for Alamaze. While it may not be the flashiest update, my goal is to address areas that often confuse new players and fix various issues. I'm also taking into account the valuable feedback you've provided.

Don't get your liver in a quiver, and definitely don't get in a tizzy!

Recently, we removed a bunch of postings (and discussion threads) that belonged to the old Alamaze forum. Specifically, 1,253 discussion threads and 52,817 postings were torched to the ground. On second thought, it was decided that we would reverse this decision, and restore the forum database, here, from a recent back-up copy. On the down side, a relative handful of new forum postings and thread have been lost, but all things considered, it was a calculated decision that we felt was best for the new Alamaze forum, for the long turn.

Brekk gets all of the credit for the superb, headache-free restoring of all of those old postings and threads from the old Alamaze forum. I can't claim any credit for that, since Brekk is a techno-genius-wizard of some sort. Even still, you might not want to let him play with matches. Remember...
