MEPBM got a lot from Iron Crown so I dunno if GSI approached the MERP guys or something and went that route. They even recycled the McBride art.

Earthwood was a fun game but yeah nothing nearly as good. They also did that Civil War game that was interesting.

I love the changes! Why don't we give Ry Vor the benefit of the doubt that he knows what the hell he's doing. Telling him totally obvious things " What happens if a leader dies, OMG total chaos, did you even think of that?". I'm pretty sure he knows how to design a game.

People who in their lifetimes who have never designed even a greeting card, should give Ry Vor some credit HE HAS earned it.

Don't feel like you need to address every obvious comment Ry Vor, and have some fun creating again Smile

They made a feeble offer before that to license Alamaze, which I had already licensed to RSI, and then without that they just tried to reverse engineer it as best they could. For the record, their defense was that their game Earthwood inspired Alamaze, which is true. But Earthwood was like a wood frame to Alamaze. Earthwood had a map and groups and the turn based setting and fantasy kingdoms, and that's about the end of the similarities.

Leaders will be needed to recruit the 565's. After that, the 565's are not dependent on the leader. In the future, like in KoA, there may be mercenary companies that do require a specific leader, but that's for another time.

Very interesting info. I wonder how much they had to pay Tolkien to use all the LOTR material.

Glad to hear assassins won't be destroying my army group.

Their timing was perfect - I think all they paid was permission. (Like me with Brom and Frazetta). This was before Peter Jackson and company had a gleam in their eye. My thing is I don't know one creative thing they did beyond what they got from Alamaze. Anyone?

So, you have the rights to certain pieces of Brom and frazetta art in game documents? Is that why Conan is chopping people up on the website banner? :-)

Permission to display, not rights. The portraits by Michael Komarch and Ryan (both cover artists for Dragon Magazine and for cards for Magic the Gathering) were commissioned works and are my property.

Was glad to see the leader killing question addressed. Thanks much.

What does commissioned art of that standard cost, ballpark figure?

Jumbie, if you stay at Scout and play for eight years, that will be in the ballpark for one of the portraits.

A caravan leaves Meridon going at 4 movement points over the plains. Another leaves Zarathon going at 5 movement points. Which one will be the first to reach Cradia. Show your work.
