FT Ships Won't Stop Fighting!
#1
For some reason, my trade missions for the FT are all of a sudden going on unasked sea patrols and fighting! This has happened three turns in a row and has cost me a lot of ships and lost profit - we hate lost profit and we hate war! Help! We will execute the rouge captains if needed, but we need to know who to kill to stop these constant battles.

Send your trade routes by my capital and stormgate.  I will take care of them

Well, I'm glad that this game isn't one that matters because this bug keeps happening and my ships keep on going on sea patrol without me ordering it.

Think of it as merchant trading ships having an escort that fights when needed...

Players may be used to taking advantage of building fleets with low quality for merchant trading but there is always a risk at sea from a number of factors: other trading ships trying to impose on your trade route, sea creatures such as a leviathan devouring ships, opposing sea patrols on route to destroy others, etc.

The Sea Patrol order is a "pure" military maneuver meant to protect one's assets, and a highly aggressive tactic to employ.

Issuing a merchant trading mission may be a risky one if you don't develop your naval fleet...

Was this tweeked? Never had an intercept from merchant only sea patrol. Curious.

This is new and has happened in one game every turn for the past four turns. Sometimes more than one battle in the same sea and I’m running into others who are not issuing sea patrol orders. And it’s not happening in my other FT game, something is off or there’s been a change

Dupont,

Perhaps it is a FT thing cause you are the only one I have tangled with.

And once again, my FT ships went out to war without being ordered to. Twice in the same sea. Nothing to see here, just an ordinary day with mutiny.

See my other thread. I will not take advantage of this situation to attack your army that has no fleets. And to be clear, my ships were also just trying to make some cash, and were not on patrol.

Just for the record, yep, again, just like every other turn, another sea battle that wasn't initiated. Nothing going wrong here, nope, carry on.
