Up for a WWII Game from Rick?
#1
I wouldn't stop on Alamaze but I kind of would like to do a World War II game, if I live so long, and Mike is willing.  He's brought it up before, so, I don't think that programming would be the issue.  It would be kind of in the Alamaze style, less political, more military, more tactics.

Would you guys play?  I ask because Fall of Rome cost a fortune and hardly got attention (aside from Game of the Year), because it wasn't a fantasy setting.

I have a few ideas for some twists on a WWII game, for example, Secret Weapon Development might be something of a facsimile for magic.

Just floating an idea.

I wonder if a Sci Fi type of alamaze would work better.  The only reason I bring this up is based on miniature gaming.   There are markets for historical war games but they seem to have a much smaller draw as well as older crowd.  Would your game be close to something like Axis & Allies?

Interesting - I thought WWII would be about the audience of a space game.  But as I said, that kind of assumption was the downfall for Fall of Rome.  I could do a Star Trek type game, and have considered that as well, but I have a good historical background on WW2.  So I could make words up in a Star Trek game, if that's where the market is, and I've seen every Star Trek episode (several times, I have to admit) and Star Wars as well.  Or I could show the industrial and technological costs to improve from a Mark IV to a Panther and have a more natural dynamic between army group commanders in possibly a six on six game of USA vs. Germany.

Just give your thoughts, people.

How much did FoR cost, out of curiosity?

I like WW2.

I'll play WWII but WWIII might be better Smile

I'll also play a sci-fi based game.

Any expansion in the number of products offered by Enlightened Age Entertainment would increase the overall player pool across all games!

I'd prefer a sci-fi game (like that computer game Alpha-Centauri?). And as Mike said I'd take WWIII over WWII Wink

Liked Alpha-Centauri much better than Civilization back in the day.
-This Khal Drogo, it's said he has a hundred thousand men in his horde

WW2! Lifetime fascination for me. Up Front, Axis and Allies, World in Flames, World at War, War in the East, Memoir:44, Close Combat, Hearts of Iron, Panzer General, Panzer Corps- I've played them all! When you start talking about the differences between a Panzer IV F and Panzer IV G or Panther I love all of it.

I would try whatever you produce but I can only play 2-3 games at a time because of time commitments.  The resurgence in Star Wars and Guardians of the Galaxy might increase the draw of a space/sci fi game.

Starship trooper taking planets and moons instead of towns and villages. Space ships with big guns and other magic like effects
