Haha ... Pirates...

You should ask LD what happened to his precious Pirates.  They didn't have any boats to play with after the Cimmerians finished with them  Big Grin

I'm hoping Lizard Men and perhaps the Pirates.

Mad
GO CIMMERIANS!!!

Sea Battle Sea battle in the sea of Foreboding over choppy seas: 9 fleets of Pirates

splendid triremes vs. 10 fleets of Cimmerians splendid triremes. During the
first hour of battle, long and medium range catapult fire inflicted minor
damage to the Pirates navy and very light damage to the Cimmerians splendid
triremes. As the forces drew near, ballistas, fire arrows and grappling
missiles caused minor losses to the Pirates splendid triremes and minor
losses to the Cimmerians ships. When the navies clashed at close range,
ramming tactics and ship to ship melee resulted in additional minor damage
to the Pirates ships, and minor damage to the Cimmerians ships. By this
time, total losses to the Pirates ships were significant compared to
moderate losses to the Cimmerians splendid triremes based on the overall
number of ships in each navy. The battle continued to rage for some time
until the Pirates fleet attempted to break off. Their relatively fast navy
was able to do so with some difficulty. Pirates losses were put at 4 fleets
while Cimmerians losses were estimated at 3 fleets. Damage to remaining
Pirates fleets was very light and negligible to those of the Cimmerians.
Damage to surviving ships resulted in diminished naval quality in that sea.

And while I'm here, this is the battle that persuaded Rick to end it all. Big Grin
Picture Conan leading the charge in retaliation for the attack on Viperhead.  I tell you, heads rolled that day.  If only I had the NIGHT ATTACK (option 5 I believe).  The extra 20% attack strength would have ended the WA for good.  And don't even get me started on the WINTER ATTACK option.

Determined Attack Surprised

Due to the ruthless nature of the Cimmerians, the Warlock forces became weakened as they

succumbed to their fear. Late in the afternoon, the 1st Cimmerians small army advanced

with grim resolution toward the defensive position of the 1st Warlock army group led by

Grand Marshal Taras. Among the Cimmerians troops were brigades of Mammoths Veteran, which

now leaped ahead to the first ranks! Among the Warlock troops were brigades of Wights

Veteran, which now raced to the front lines! Being surprised by the sudden onset of

battle, the defender's leaders were unorganized in issuing orders and the troops were

greatly demoralized that diminished their defensive capabilities. Aware of the political

situation that had declared the Warlock to be treated as an enemy of their kingdom's

ideals, the Cimmerians troops were noticably energized and had their morale raised as they

prepared to fight their declared enemy! Aware of the political situation that had declared

the Cimmerians to be hostile to their kingdom's ideals, the Warlock forces were clearly

anxious for battle and gained a morale boost as they prepared to meet their declared

enemy! As the most important group of their nation, the troops are visibly bolstered by

the presence of the first Cimmerians's banner! As the most important group of their

people, the fighters are noticeably emboldened by being under the first Warlock's colors!

As the attackers swept over the green fields, the battle began.

- Archers -

Missilers from both sides joined the fray and fired their arrows. The Cimmerians ranks

claimed light losses upon the Warlock lines while the Warlock imposed light damage against

the enemy. Misslers from both sides stepped forward and let loose a volley of arrows. The

Cimmerians lines caused minor losses upon the Warlock forces and, in return, the Warlock

caused light losses to their enemy.

- Magic -

Cimmerians wizards dismounted scarcely past where the defensive missles were falling and

began an elaborate spell. Power-3 wizard Longbow threw back his hood and gestured in an

animated fashion, in rapid succession were cast many minor phantasms and magical bolts

into the heart of the enemy force. Power-2 wizard Vul slowly spoke in an arcane language,

gestures building to a crescendo. A faintly visible blue shimmering began to surround the

troops and noticeably lessened the effectiveness of the arrows of the defenders. Power-1

Wizard Morte while seemingly detached from all else, seemed to draw within himself and

began to incant. He then created a powerful warding, which would protect the heroes and

wizards of his force from the black magics of any opposing spellcasters. Warlock conjurers

dismounted just past where the defensive missles were falling and began an

incomprehensible incantation. Power-8 wizard Gutz threw back his hood and gestured in an

animated fashion, in rapid succession were cast many killing illusions and waves of deadly

cold into the heart of the enemy force. Power-6 wizard Golindar while seemingly detached

from all else, seemed to draw within himself and began to incant, in rapid succession were

cast many minor phantasms and magical bolts into the ranks of the enemy. Power-6 wizard

Occident threw back his hood and gestured in an animated fashion, with chilling ease he

fired many volleys of killing illusions and waves of deadly cold into the heart of the

enemy force. The Cimmerians lines inflicted minor damage upon the Warlock ranks in return,

the Warlock caused light losses against the enemy.

- Artifact -

Warlock Grand Marshal Taras displayed the Axe of Farin for all to see, his troops thus

encouraged multiplied their efforts and the enemy's leaders quaked as the magical axe slew

enemy forces. Realizing the presence of contending mages in the opposing group, Wizard

Slayer hummed it's grizzly death dirge as it compelled Lord Commander Gomora of the

Cimmerians to seek out those spellcasters and raised the confidence of our fighting

forces.

- Cavalry -

The Cimmerians troops hoped to exploit the advantage they had gained at this point and

onto a quick victory. The chargers from both sides charged ahead and clashed upon the

battlefield. The Cimmerians ranks dealt out significant damage upon the Warlock ranks in

response, the Warlock claimed light damage to their enemy.

- Infantry -

The Cimmerians force maintained a distinct advantage and victory now appeared within their

grasp. Now the time had come for the main body of each force to clash. The Cimmerians

footmen advanced forward to meet the Warlock footmen in close quarters. The Cimmerians

ranks imposed substantial damage upon the Warlock ranks while the Warlock caused noticable

casualties to their enemy.

- Combined -

Hour after hour passed, yet none could tell which side would be the victor since both

forces were evenly matched. Despite all that had preceeded at this moment, the battle

outcome was still in doubt. Now all remaining troops of all types hurled themselves into

the thick of battle to settle matters in decisive fashion. Still the glory of this day was

to be won. However, the last hours of combat sealed the fate of both forces. The

Cimmerians remaining troops defied the Warlock entire force for the final battle. The

Cimmerians forces inflicted noticable casualties upon the Warlock lines as the Warlock

imposed light losses against the enemy.

- Conclusion -

Faced with the prospect of incurring greater than planned losses, Grand Marshal Taras saw

that a withdrawal for the Warlock had to be quickly made. Being surprised by the battle,

the withdrawing force suffered greater losses during their withdrawal. The Warlock leaders

exited the field with a signficant amount of casualties. Cimmerians casualties were put at

40%. All Cimmerians leaders survived the battle. Fighting gloriously was Ashtonz, who

again has won further glory. He is now a Grand Marshal. Marikan once again shown uncommon

skill and has earned a promotion to Captain Major. All the Cimmerians wizards survived the

fray. The troops are anxious for more victories: morale is up! Warlock casualties were put

at 77%. In a setback, the Warlock Captain Major Hyaniern perished. Grisizan impressed and

has been promoted as a Marshal. Sadly, the Warlock Power-6 Golindar died of his wounds.
The toll of battle has lowered the group's morale.

CROM!
I am the greatest swordsman that ever lived. Say, um, can I have some of that water?

I assume Enemy declarations allowed before T12, right? What about HC stuff? Ok to do another kingdom a solid on the Council?
-This Khal Drogo, it's said he has a hundred thousand men in his horde

#23
All HC issues before turn 12 should be raised to be voted in secret ballot. NO solids on the HC. Otherwise, it's no different from those early ally declarations which mar the intent of so many anonymous games.

#24
I'm thinking Mad may have that battle report printed on parchment and framed!  Smile

#25
So any other fantasy kingdoms in new era like  Melnibonean, Grail, or others?

Yes.   Yes.  Yes.

Hehe..  You know I'm just poking fun.  A firewall would have snuffed out most of my attack if you had had the time to plan out your turn.

Having said that, perhaps the Cimmerians should have some kind of ability to breach firewalls or a greater resistance to magic.  After all, they are caught between two powerful magic kingdoms.

Actually, The Cimmerians would replace one of those wizard kingdoms.  In the Choosing, in the territory we associate with the Witchlord in 2nd Cycle will be either Cimmerian or Witchlord, not both.  The Talking Mountains will be either Dwarves or Warlock, but not both.  My job is to make every The Choosing choice for kingdom very difficult.

Can I take the $40 flat option for this game? If so count me in as the DE.

That's only for Primeval games.
