I caught a really lucky break by finding the DE prince hidden capitol fairly quickly with some 970 recons after I took my starting region. Turned out to be in the water. Naturally, he assumed that "hidden and in the water" meant it was safe. When my Army Group in boats showed up it caught him completely by surprise and I got some good capture rolls. His capital then relocated to Gundibar which of course was where my Army Group moved and I got some more good capture rolls. I showed up in Synisvania while the DA was in the process of dropping. I managed to take it and started moving on the S. Sands, when the UN decided he wanted R9 and R10. It was ugly for a long time. Emmys being slept, warded, assassinated, captured, etc.; invisible groups, PCs being swapped back and forth. Luckily his hidden capital was not in the S. Sands but his temporary capital was but had an 80k defense; took me awhile to pull together enough to take that monstrosity and then it was "follow the capitol"! In the end, I just had more emmys, wizards, and groups operating in that theatre but the UN fought valiantly to deny me the win!!! I must say, I kept waiting for some other kingdom to pull in R3 or R6 while I was busy down south but no one ever did; though it turns out that allying with the NE early seemed to help give me a protected border.
This really was a very enjoyable and tense game with a lot of good play and battles. Kudos to all who stuck it out!

RD
Around turn 3 I captured a DA Duke in a neutral town in what would soon be my region. Knowing the DA started with nothing in Region 8 I took this as a war declaration. Quickly I moved my patrols into region 9 this my armies. Unluckily for the DA his starting capital was one of the first PCs I had found very close to our boarder. I took his capital then moved to take it again when it moved to the city. I was also recruiting from NN and sending all I could into the region. I was likely about 3 turns away from removing the DA when the GN decided it was time to move his emmies into my villages. The GN moved them just at the time I would be going into summer and trying to feed my now large military force. I was especially not happy with this because early in the game I passed over his starting village in R8 and then took the extra effort to move a patrol back to the village just so he would see me there and know I was leaving it alone. I felt this was a cowards attack, moving in on my region while I was clearly at war. Of course I have done this myself before but still how dare he... with the great troop speed I was able to get 3 groups to the three villages I got notice he was moving into. I completely pulled out of R9 and would now go teach the GN a lesson. I actually figured I would loose this war since he is a strong wizard kingdom. his military showed up and I took back the three villages effectively never loosing there production due to order sequences. I also quickly divined GN PCs in R7. Instead of chasing the GN around R8 I decided I would turn things around and blitz into R7. I believe I caught him off guard with this tactic and quickly took control of R7 and did just enough to not loose control of R8. The GN would soon drop and I would finish taking back my holding in R8. During the winter months what really helped me out was the WA never took my village in R3. This would pay good dividends in the late game as I did not get involved in the WA affairs when he started to pull ahead. That was just the start.
I was the DA in this one. After my ill fated attempt to sneak a neutral town from the RD next door and getting rocked back on my heels with the resulting rush, I was given an unexpected reprieve and retook my region. Then, seeing agents and nobles (those who weren't involuntary guests inside a RD dungeon) continue to mysteriously die, I sent my forces into Southern Sands vs. the UN, and in truth didn't accomplish a lot before the WA came down and took my PC's out in an alarmingly organized manner. I mistimed a couple of orders and ran into a couple of Domes which I did not deal with correctly, and managed to get myself eliminated (for the 1st time so far). One thing I think that I have learned is the protection of my nobles; I have been kind of reckless with them in the 1st few games, and few things suck worse than having half of your court as prisoners in someone's hidden capital.
