Any chance of a write up from the great Jon Doe?  With no new games starting we can use some activity on the forum!  Congratulations on another win J.D.

I played the DA in this game. Never played a game with no communication. I had a third place finish and I have no idea how that happened. My game perspective: I didn’t take note, so this is from memory.

I have never played the DA position before, even in 2nd cycle way back. My first thought, as I studied the traits and position set up was, WOW!! These guys are pretty good at everything.. Smile

I took my region pretty quick, and I had already decided I was going into R6, which was controlled by the DE, I took a water town in my region from him. I was hoping Not to get blind sided from the south. I screwed up and started the fight in my production reduced months, which sucked, because the DE was at full production. Lol

I have never fought or played the DE before and I won’t look forward to it any time soon, we went at it for half the game, and he took it to me. I had my wins too, but I lost every emmie, save a baron, who became my regent. My great influence I had built was gone, loosing my capital X2, kicked off HC, king dead, and after the skeletons were released almost took me out. But my military was tough, very tough. Had a Warlord almost per group, and Marshals. Had elite forces mixed with veterans, so I still had some fight left. Note to new players::: if you are lucky to have a kingdom that has the acuity trait, never surprised is an awesome thing, my entrenched troops delt out very good damage. Another issue I had was the DE had this lvl18 fanatic, with a ring of invisibility, and a demon blade type weapon, and he made mince meat out of my wizards, I lost several high lvl wizards. I did manage to break his hold on R6 and on my final push, I think he dropped, not sure what happened. I took both regions R6 and R9, but had to rebuild My wizards and politicals. So far the IL and NO had not moved against me. I remember reading about how a player had left another players pop center alone in a non communication game like this, and it was a sign of non aggression. On turn 10, during my 1/2 game battle with the DE, I stumbled onto the IL capital/hidden, and at the time an IL Army was in my reports. I left the capital alone and he left R9. I had just figured it was an experience player, who reciprocated my kind act.

I prepped everything for R3 and as I went to move on it the WA dropped the game, so I prepped to fight the DU there because he had just taken R2. In one turn I used my wizards to locate every non hidden population in R3, move all my barons about 15 now onto R3 and moved my three army groups 13 to 17 brigades each into R3. I found out that I didn’t need everything there because no one had moved into the area, I took it in one turn with no resistance.

I then set my self up to go into R2 and fight the DU. But on this final turn, I had everything moving to populations, the IL won the game.

Not sure why the WA disappeared, or what happened to the NE, who was also having issues with the DE. It was a fun. Thanks for the game.

Congrats to Jon Doe for the win, and congrats to those who finished the game.
