From the Night King Perspective

I was saying that after episode 1 of this season: that you could really tell they had lost the trail of Martin.  Then episode 2: first time I ever saw a story with two preludes - was more of episode 1, fireside chats, etc.   Martin was never so buddy-buddy and so obvious as in these efforts to humanize all the characters.  Martin was a sadist.  The first couple episodes were more like Days of Our Lives than Game of Thrones.  And some of the dialogue has been almost cringing instead of crisp.

So that is a problem with trying to predict how HBO decides the story ends.  Not likely the same way Martin would - I think they are completely on their own now and may have decided just to give the audience what it wants.  Dispatched of the Night King pretty easily I thought; kind of anti-climactic.

Season 8 is to be six episodes, from what I hear after the first two preludes, the two action episodes, and then two denouement.

I really thought Jamie would die and Arya would take his face and strangle Cersei.

Jamie might kill Cersei straight up with the next treacherous thing she does.  I guess with the Dead so easily dispatched, attention turns to Cersei now.

Yeah, we have gone from a dozen things going on and who knows what is next to now its just kind of down to who kills Cersei and who sits on the Iron Throne.

Cersei will kill one of the two, and the survivor will kill her and take the throne?

The spy master has been quiet for too long.  Surely he must have some roll to play before it ends.

Just checked Metacritic and its the same view.  Without Martin, the writers are turning it into a typical drama, way far away from Game of Thrones.  They are just giving the audience what they think they want.  Very disappointing to have seen such a great episodic adventure and ground breaking TV turn into blah.

Now we are supposed to be afraid of Cersi?

I guess I should be shagrined.  But seeing the posts from new players on The Avengers, I took the time to watch the first, quite entertaining!

Now I need to watch the second and then see the current one in the cinema.

Clever banter, fast paced.  Better than expectations, and that is so important to some like me.

Have you watched IronMan? That's the movie that started it all really.

Yes, I liked Iron Man.  And I had a grin all through this first Avengers with Tony Stark wearing a Black Sabbath T.  I grew up Sabbath, and BOC, maybe you can tell.   Cool

So I saw Iron Man, and 2, and Spiderman, and 2, and Thor.  I don't know, I guess I just thought recent vintage was just taking money, but it was definitely fun.
