As of this moment, I declare Son of Conan to be the best Alamaze player in the history of the game, at least until the next game finishes. I started with the fearsome Red Dragons in Zanthia. I took my region like a giant flying bat out of hell, then swooped down on the Halfling in Krynn. Bam, over for him. Then I paused, smelled the smoky fires and recruited a bit. Then, bam, up into Crown Islands to annihilate the Cimmerians while also invading the Druid in Triumvia as the Cimmerians and Sacred Order were attacking the Druid. Thought I had the win 3 turns ago and declared, but those nasty, dastardly, worm-eating, land-crawling Cimmerians kept me from the win by one lousy, stinking village. And with the city and 2 towns and a village in the water, I could not see a good path to any quick victory there in Crown Islands. Thus, in my infinite wisdom, I doubled my assault on Triumvia and flew like a Phoenix into Darkover to smash the Sacred Order since they had the audacity to attack one of my army groups in Triumvia with an equal sized army group of little men (well, let's just say little men in armor should not go up against the flame). It was a bloodbath and a tearing of mail and there was much screaming. On my side, I think I misplaced one little brigade of wyverns. Same thing happened when I fought the Cimmerians and when I fought the luckless Druids. Thanks to two regions early on, my dragons stayed healthy and well-fed. I did see that another little land-grabber, the Amazons, attempted the victory on the same turn that my relentless, juggernaut Dragons declared, but lo, such shall not be. Amazons failed their check. It was an awesome contest, and I am very proud of the lesser beings who competed and landed on the podium, but please, just bow to the Dragons.

Let me say, being in command of the Sacred Order Troops that went up against the Fearsome Red Dragon, My hope was that my 14 Brigade Army Group would at least weaken his 14 Brigade Army Group. Well, when the dust settled, my troops had fallen like The Golden Company in Game of Thrones. I couldn't believe I lost 10 brigades to his 1 brigade. I had to acknowledge his superior skills. The only issue that baffled me was that the Druid and I just started battling. The RD decimated the Druid, then moved on me. While I was trying to use emmi's to counter his military, the Druid was still pushing further into my region to take my PC's instead of taking RD PC's or trying to retake the PC's the RD took from him.
No Idea why the Druid wouldn't help me against the RD, but even if he had, I doubt we could have stopped the RD. He was rolling through anything in his way.
Way to go Son of Conan. A well-deserved Victory.
Ashgar the Bloodthirsty.
My blood, your blood, what difference does it make!
Time will tell.................

Things started out so well and then went so wrong for my poor Druids.
By turn 6, I was feeling strong although there were CI groups sniffing about my region, and the AM was way out in front of status points with 2 regions (Pellinor and Stormgate). I really want to own Stormgate some day.
By turn 10, I had some really nice artifacts but the CI was all up in my business and I had to declare him enemy and he even had a group at my City.
By turn 12, a second military kingdom, the SA, also shows up in my region with an army group at my town, plus CI still there with armies. Amazon still in the lead with status, but RD now in 2nd and my DU in 3rd.
The next 3 turns see the SA destroying my army and the CI and SA hitting my stuff. Both are enemies and thus life gets really tough when a RD army group also appears.
By turn 19 I am dispossessed of my region and hostile in my own home, so my only hope of survival is to continue taking villages in Darkover where the people are at least Tolerant of me. Besides, the SA wiped out my army and started my downfall, so a little payback is ok. Over a few turns, I did assassinate a few of his wizards and kidnapped a few emissaries. I was able to dome a few times and also killed some RD emissaries, but not enough to really slow him down.
By turn 21, the fat lady sings, I own nothing except my hidden capital, but at least I finished ahead of my first two attackers SA and CI. Oh well, have to take the small victories when the large victories elude you.
Well played, especially by the military kingdoms in this one.

I would like to congratulate the mighty Red Dragons. As this was the very first contest I have played, I was just happy to make it to the end. It was turn 12 before I was able to get control of my region. 3 turns having been waisted when I learned that orders where still changeable after hitting ready.
While doing duels I caught myself imputing orders for other games into this one. I noticed everyone left my Rangers pretty much alone in Zamora. Until about three turns before the end when the Lizard Men invades. To be honest I was happy he did. Once I got my region I was unsure of what to do with it.
I was looking forward to a little fight. But then the victory bell rang and it was all over.
