Well I think people not interested in diplomacy Smile Conversely if all those interested in diplomacy did the same thing, we would have one hell of a standstill. I'm willing to wait a couple days to see if people will at least try a a game. I'm also reaching out to a few new people I know to see if we can't get them to try a game.

I could join but that ally part will turn this single player game into a team game which is fine normally but is kind of unfair to the other qualifying games to tell the truth. However, if that last spot needs filling, I could join just to get it going...

UncleMike,

I'm newer just started this great game 1st quarter this year. I'm not trying to be obtuse here but I don't understand how allowing 1 ally creates a team game, having not experienced some of the horror stories that have been experienced in the past. For instance in the Ice Age game I was allied with the RD but all I ever did was to sell him food, and since diplomacy was completely open I talked with just about every player in the game (Something I enjoy as much as playing)- Like when I started seeing people traveling through Triumvia, I would ask them - Is this war or are you traveling through, in hindsight maybe should have put up a toll sign! (5 movement made my realm a stopping grounds). Now had I been the UN it might have been fun to kidnap and sell those "travelers" back to their respective kings. Also I would love to play a TOT kingdom and be able to trade openly with others or, honestly the UN and be able to "sell" my services. This game rocks and I understand you play a huge part in making that happen behind the scenes, I think it would be AWESOME if you would join and allow some of us newer players get to know you. Also getting to try out other kingdoms you and Rick have put some much blood sweat and tears into and use them as it appears they were designed to be used.

Sorry to talk so much, but I cannot PM you so had to post here

Confused on what the comms rules are for this one but looking for a new game. I don't want to be in an strange limited comms game where you can't identify who you're fighting, where they are, ask anyone for help etc. That just seems dumb to me. Rick designed the game and he has said many many times that it was designed to have full diplomacy and I like that but also enjoy silent. The 3 turn forum full on diplomacy worked well to me- not sure why it got so nerfed in the last game.

Ace this one is full comms I think. Can one of you gurus post all rules for this game including the communications of what can and can’t be said? One ally declared is already confirmed for the game.

I know I would like the chance to play a game with UncleMike. I however do understand what he is saying. What happens when one ally works solely to help another ally win, without regard to advancing themselves to victory. I.E. one ally takes pop centers in a region while the other destroys them in order to give the other concenses in the region. Now full well that the one was helping the other get the victory and would not even be able to pedestal themselves. I am not going to say who or where but I watched it with my own eyes.

If this is a game to be eligible for getting points to get championship points it needs to be no allies. If it is allies I am out in this one.

On the other hand it doesn’t have to be non communication or non trade. Selling trade goods and asking people their intentions etc are integral to the strengths and weaknesses of some kingdoms.

That’s my feelings. If we want a team game just call it a team game.

Lol don’t get mad with me, I’m just wanting another game. I kinda of agree about the ally thing because it is a dynamic different than the other games. I just want to start a fast turn game Smile full diplomacy no allies is fine with me too, I’ll go with the majority.

My interpretation is that there are many views on the very next game, but this new twist will be the "first next".

So forum diplomacy concerning trades, universal results, pointless posturing, etc..  No "game long" anything, even with the one declared ally.

All diplomacy must be on the forum except for private dialogue with the one declared ally.  The declared ally cannot reply however unless it is a mutual declaration.  Essentially, it would be difficult to have nonreciprocal allies.

You won't pick allies until T1 at the earliest, and you can undeclare to later declare a different ally.  As usual, you can have two enemies.

So forum only diplomacy except with the one possible ally.  Also no forwarding turns to any but currently formed allies.

Next game probably back to Silent Steel for those that don't get in this one.
