Carl, every time I read something you wrote I get an image of my old boss handing me the book called "Eats, shoots, and leaves" with a picture of a panda bear holding a gun walking out of a restaurant. (it was the no-nonsense guide to correct punctuation.)

I too had a problem with commas in graduate school Wink (And, I had to edit out extra commas in that sentence!)
