BTW, if you give me a few days or so, I could add the new kingdoms into the mix for this game. But keep in mind, this will be a messy game because I haven't tested any of the online order site changes, and every time that I have to make a correction, you'll have to clear your browser cache to pick up the fix (which is a pain in the butt).
Let me know if there's interest in having the new kingdoms for this game (along with mithril, creating magical scrolls, etc.), as well as your patience because this is a very early alpha test before I'm ready for it. I'll need a few days to get things in working order for the game so if there's no rush to get this started, perhaps this weekend, consider adding the 8 new kingdoms into the mix. Also, I'll be phasing in new features and enhancements as we go along if that is alright with everyone.
New kingdoms:
Alchemist - only one able to craft/use potions, access to gunpowder
Deathknights - ever-present plague effect, may recruit Hell Hounds and Pit Fiends, I would say this is the most challenging kingdom of the lot so only an experienced player should select this one
Elementalist - wizard kingdom that may summon Elementals (Air, Earth, Fire, Water), each with unique abilities above the norm
Fairy Folk - flyers (like Dragons but much smaller), tons of reinforcements (and I mean alot), may recruit a mighty Chimera
Forgotten - misshaped, deformed outcasts from failed wizard experiments, the only kingdom that may recruit Beholders with their 5 eye beam attacks (even I got scared testing this guy)
Free Traders - exceptional travelers and traders, may recruit special companions like Cockatrices, Griffons, and Unicorns
Giants - a return of an old favorite, need I say more?
Lycans - nasty kingdom that spreads lycanthrope on everyone they capture
Also, included with the update will be
Mithril to collect and create your very own magical items (5th level spell for everyone).
Scrolls as they exist in the code right now, are immediate items so when you craft them, they have an immediate effect. I'll post later what can be made with this new 5th level spell.
Also, some current kingdoms will have enhancements too:
Elves/Dwarves - the only ones that may craft mithril armor/weapons (the normal improved armor/weapons provide +25% bonus, mithril adds +50% bonus)
Elves - may recruit Giant Eagles to fly up to a division-sized group
Rangers - now has Falconry to recon up to 20 area distance (as L10)
All Non-Evil Wizard kingdoms (and the new Fairy Folk kingdom) - may cast Summon Monster I-IX
And there's
Seapower enhancements to bolster your naval fleets with Greek Fire and such.
There are new spells like
Simulacrum to protect your wizard from assassination (and a cool looking icon),
Revelation (most powerful spell available to show another kingdom's info),
Summon Iron Golem (badest dude ever), and others.
Also, and this one is
VERY IMPORTANT, when I upgrade the server with the new software, it'll affect all present games as well. We don't have a "test" server so these changes will also affect Game 84 (currently turn 12) and Game 5596 (currently turn 37).
So, think about it if you want to be guinea pigs or if there's no interest in the new stuff right now then enjoy a normal game. Again, this will be a very early Alpha test of all of this so expect some issues and many updates as the game progresses.
