I noticed you dropped ruthless, but gave it Specters. Nice choice. You also dropped a few other traits while strengthening elsewhere. I wonder how many points this new Black has on your ranking system?

I would recommend leaving the forest penalty as it is. I think it works for a dragon. And I would cut Summon Death.

Great work. This would be a fun kingdom to play and a tough kingdom to play against.

I could be wrong, but I do believe the witch king is alive and well with a new name TYRANT. Its flavors and abilitys match well with the old witch king kingdom. I would bet it was renamed in the past to avoid copyright issues.



I always thought the Witch King became the Necromancer.

*Evil (they are still evil)

Magic

Change the kingdom to be a tier 2 magic kingdom (was 4)
Early spells: Cold Darkness, Infuriate Populace, Summon Death, and Summnon Specters (was only Cold Darkness)


Military

Add Rocs to diversify the recruitment pool
Allow them to Summon Specters (flying undead)
Remove forest adversity and change to a movement of 2.5 for all terrain types
Retool the reinforcement schedule to be more in line with other balanced kingdoms: 2,2,1,2,2,1 (same as DA)
Lower kingdom troop defense from "Good" to "Above Average" to reflect that they are not the warriors the Red are

yes!

I think the back story is the Tyrant overcame and enslaved the Witch King (hence the power 4 wraith to start).

BL needs a magic boost for sure.

I can't describe how bad this kingdom is, but I will try.

They have one advantage, only. Speed. So before turn 4, they can scout their own region and another before a priestess can divine. That's it. And another kingdom has the same advantage and much better military.

They can only recruit 16 brigades, (5 wyverns, 10 bats, 1 phoenix) so their armies don't cost too much too feed. But they can't spend that money on anything, because their wizards suck and their armies suck- so if you build a legendary, you are only building it to get taken from you, and you cant retake it. Your best 1BL might take a small legendary, once, late in the game but be ruint. Your other max groups cant take a castle. Get that?

You can't even locate capital at sea, despite battles at sea now being "land". As the BL you should not build anything, just steal, as you cant hold anything you build.

Agents are above average, but by the time they are 14 level, you only advantage, speed, doesnt mean anything as every built up cap is legendary.

Bad wizards, unbelievably bad armies with no potential. Great speed. 

Recommendations- make magic level 2. Allow recruiting of flying undead and summons (gargoyles, specters etc.), allow capitol at sea PC.

p.s. secret passages is your second best weapon. Every kingdom has that- and that is the BL second best attribute. Trash.

An excellent synopsis, Pine Needle!

To add another item to the pile - the BL (and the RD) are essentially required to dedicate at least two standing orders to Phoenix regeneration.

Oh I forgot that they should have 5 groups. Really a bunch of kingdoms should have 5 groups, like the Elves, and only the wizards and maybe the UN should only have 4.

Thanks Dave. I love your origin story idea for BL, too.
