Ring of Protection and Ward

I recall that a Ring of Protection could block a friendly ward spell. This was long ago, however. 

Is this still the case, or has this odd interaction (IMHO) been changed?

I do believe the ring can interfere with the Ward spell.

Modified spell: ward spell and resist magic trait will no longer prevent conjure prestige or enhance king’s aura (was interfering with increasing one’s own influence)

Idk this change is what I was thinking. Not same as the ring question.
