Hi all.
I just want to make sure that this game is not a team game. It is simply a veteran taking 2 new players under his wing and go from there. I think that if this were a team game that that would be harmful to their learning curve, as a team game starts out hostile to all players, and the focus of this game is teaching. If the new players want to attack someone else, that is fine then.

Seriously a team game. Most of the new players have now had at least 1 or 2 games under their belt. Enough to have a rough grasp on how to fill out turns. Now they need to learn some finer tuning.
Part of this has been the experience of HW. Getting a veterans take on best procedures and building forces and the like fills a lot of gaps. So there are four vets, each with two newbies. The newbies have someone they can ask very precise questions about what they are doing, knowing they are all on the same side. Not sure on how Alamaze handles Team games. I picked it because I figured it would be three against the rest type of thing.
Nothing against any of you but I know there is a hesitancy to asking someone questions when you cannot be very sure it will not slip or be used against you. I tell people all the time on HW to ask me questions, I will answer truthfully even if I will lose because of it. And I mean it. Losing a game is worth it to gain a long-term player. Still folks hesitate to ask. This game was created to help with that.
Each newbie is still independent. You strive to gain the victory as a team and learn best practices as you go.

We had davekuyk, VBallMichael, Pine Needle and Strongwill all volunteer to be on a team. My problem is the name for the game signup and the forums are not the same for everybody. Ozymandius is davekuyk, for example. So I am not sure who has not signed up, or why. They may simply be waiting til all the newbies have claimed kingdoms so they do not interfere with someone's choice. I just do not know.

We have two veterans team leaders and need two more. I guess they are waiting for last positions to get in.
Meanwhile in my opinion one or two players from group B should switch to group C because all three players in group B are new comers, no place for the veteran there.

I’ll step back and let pine and VBall join as veterans. Good luck to all in that format.

Was kind of hoping someone would step in and fix this up. Playing 3 random kingdoms in 3 random regions and then trying to make those into teams seems like not the best way to teach new folks how to play in teams. A large part of the team game is working together on a strategy to align 3 kingdoms with 3 regions that complement and support each other and trying to isolate a particular lone enemy somewhere.
If this is how it is to go, I can join, but as someone else pointed out, there is no vet on one of the teams. Not trying to put a downer on this as team games can be lots of fun. I just don't think the random nature of this choosing is going to lead to a fun result.

Teams B and C are open for team leader. You may choose a kingdom best appropriate to form a team there. Regions somehow complex to choose hence distributed already, not much choices left. In my opinion good and evil kingdoms in a team wouldn’t be thematic, though looks no such team in the game. Teams evil, neutral, good kind of.
