Question of the Key
#1
I recently acquired a key to one of the quest artifacts, and I wasn't given the code of said artifact. That being said, I have no idea how to go about finding it. I can't do a 790 order since that only finds the code for the key (which I have), and the 795 order doesn't work because I don't have the code for said artifact to find it in the wild. Please help.

Hiya,

If you acquired the key by investigating an encounter, the code for the artifact that the key unlocks should be given to you at the end of the encounter:

An ornate gold key, and a parchment written in a nearly forgotten tongue: Only he who
possess The Key of the Maker can hope to obtain the Ring of Power. A group possessing this
key will grant access to investigate the Ring of Power's encounter. The Key of the Maker
provides access to the Ring of Power (shortname 88808).

Hope this helps

Sorry, but I got the key basically off a corpse, and I didn't get the code for the artifact upon receiving it.

Send me the game/turn/kingdom and I will send you the code.

I always thought that was the breaks with getting a key from something other than the encounter. You don't know the quest item. Unless you aquire it otherwise, like foreknowledge or finding the quest on your own.

It may have worked differently in the past—I’m not sure—but it seems like there should be some way to determine if you're holding the key. For now, I've been assigning it to people, and it's on my list to review. Once I have all the information and have chatted with Mike about any updates, I’ll make a final ruling.

Makes sense that the key would tell what encounter it opens in its description (including the number).
