Hi Brek,
Good work. I just have a couple of thoughts after a brief look.
1. The borders could be clearer, the line seems to cross through the middle of a lot of squares.
2. The region with Meridon in it seems really small compared to other regions.

12 regions for ten players?
Is the thought two regions will not have a start position? Avalon and ?

The old map!! I love it.
Its definitely prettier than the old map and more colorful. It looks great.
However, on a game level I have some recommendations.
1) Put Viperhead in Northern Mists. Right now it looks like its in Torvale.
2) Also, it looks like Viperhead is blocking the only land access to south for Oakendale. I'm not sure if that is by design.
3) I'm assuming that line across Torvale is a mistake and Meridon is in that region.
4) Give Zarathon to Amberland. If it is going to be in the center of the map, and the most dangerous spot, it should get two cities, not Eastern Steppes. Also, it seems to have lost Avalon anyway.
5) We'll need a line that separates the Sea of Mystery from the Sea of Foreboding.
6) I didn't bother to count but I would be mindful of how many regions each regions touches up against as well as how many seas each region potentially has access to. These are important for play balance.
7) I like the dominant terrains in most regions. A real desert region two mountain regions, etc. Terran advantage will be a major factor on this map.
All in all, looks great.

Could you also consider maintenence and orders costs for figures. In late stages of the game too many high level figures too much gold and food.
And obituaries would include leaders and wizards.

How many regions are intended? 10 + Avalon? It appears to be 11 regions + Avalon, or maybe I am reading it wrong.

center regions is a bit of a bear. might want to leave Avalon in the center for the player that holds that.
