Fresh Meat Introduction
#1
Hello,

New player introduction here as I didn't see any other place recently used.  My name is Mike from South Jersey and I haven't played a game like this in many years.  I did PBM games back in the mid 70's through Flying Buffalo and then again in the early 90's with both them and other companies.  I may have played Alamaze at that time as I vividly remember the name and recall having a map very similar to this and different army groups marching around a map, though I don't remember anywhere near this much magic.  I also played another game with things called Maratesens and Daks but don't remember the name of that one.  In recent years I've tried several on-line games that were basically pay to win and prefer to stay away from them now.

I'm going through the Training game a second time now and as suggested will start up a duel in a couple weeks.  Looking forward to being humbled while getting my feet wet.

Ziggy,

Welcome back! I played in the 80's and 90's as well. Please feel free to ask any questions on this form or you can contact me thru the messenger above. A couple of suggestions for your first couple of games back. Stick to a balanced kingdom to start (Ranger Elven Darkelven Gnome) learn the basics before you try the specialized kingdoms. Join a 72hr diplomacy game so you can communicate with your peers during the game. I just created one in the game cue Game # 1008 Fall steel. Now one thing to remember is when you complete your turn hit the save key before you hit "READY" if not you will have entered a blank turn with no orders.

Hope you have fun!

Thank you kind sir, for both the welcome and the advice.  I've already experienced the results of neglecting to hit 'save' before my final turn of the training game and am going through that game again to try different things.  I'll keep my eye open on the game you mentioned and just may end up joining it.

Take care,
Mike 'Ziggy the Addled One'
