I could see the situation resolved by say a trade of 8000 gold for 1 food. The gold per se the encounter. You can keep the item since it was part of your kingdoms heirloom. What say you Admiral?

It seems that your 1RD strayed into Krynn. I'm certain that this is a mistake due to strong winds in the area.
Please confirm that you will be returning to your side of the border or you may find that your group is ill prepared for any potential conflict. Especially, with no wizards in your group
