Be wary of who and when you attack. I am in a war with two other nations, one by choice and one by happenstance. You could have attacked the LI or the AT, yet you do an all out war on me. This is low.
I find myself conflicted on the ethics of this situation. On one hand, I do strive to be an honorable player and striking someone already engaged two-on-one is certainly not the height of honor. On the other hand, there was a recent thread on this very topic where the only voices to speak up said it's a wargame - sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug. It was in the spirit of the latter (in addition to other factors) that I made my strike. I have certainly been on the receiving end of this, fighting four foes at the end 5942. I feel fairly confident in saying that anyone who plays Alamaze long enough will find themselves on the short end of the stick sometimes.
I value my reputation more than the outcome of any particular game. If the consensus is that I have dishonored myself by this attack, I will withdraw. But I do wish to hear from the player base to know what the consensus is.

I realize now that waiting for a consensus isn't really compatible with a 48hr turn clock.
I think what it ultimately comes down to for me is that Alamaze is a 12 player game - not a series of 1v1 contests. It is intended that 1+v1 wars will happen. Heck, there is even a mechanic for declaring someone an ally (though to be clear that is not the case here), making 2+v2+ possible. It is certainly Windstar's right to consider this a low blow, but I don't believe it is beyond the pale. It may be that the eventual consensus will disagree with that. If so, so be it. I've made my bed - I'll sleep in it.

The deed is done. Please tell me one thing, Thudargh: Why did you choose to attack me instead of the other two kingdoms that I had mentioned?

I have your sentiment, I recently attacked a player that declared the turn before I was to attack him but only because it was a kingdom that has no chance unless they attack super early and it would have basically ended any chance (not that i actually had one).

Placement of my hidden capital, the specific distribution of population centers in the target regions, and the seas between me and some of my neighbors. You were the only one I could effectively reach with emissaries, groups, and agents without significant logistical challenges.
