Head Honcho

I suppose I should start one of these myself. I was an avid PBM player back in the 80's and 90's, as finances allowed, anyway. Smile I played mostly Alamaze and Hyborian Wars and Diplomacy, with a dabbling in Duelmasters, the Forgotten Realms game, and Legends.

Back in the day, I played several first cycle Alamaze games with both Pegasus and RSI under their license, and I won a few and lost a few. My experience in second cycle was a bit more limited, but I remembered enjoying it even more than first cycle, so I'm glad all of these games are second cycle.

I'm gradually ramping up my service level as I add more games, although I'm not quite ready to make the jump into Epic or Titan.

I live in Los Angeles, and I also enjoy lots of other games. All my best, and I look forward to interacting with folks on the forum and sitting across the table with you in the games!

Nice, HeadHoncho! Good to hear from you and welcome.

By Forgotten Realms, do you mean the RSI production? Quite curious about that as they had engaged me to do the design and put tremendous time pressure on me (three weeks for the whole design while I had a 2 month old baby and a full time job), and then delivering to them more than 200 pages (yes, actual hard copy back then) and looking at it for months and asking lots of questions, they decided they couldn't do it. I did like Paul Brown though and Ed Schoonover (HW designer).

Thanks!

As I think about it, I believe I was involved in a limited RSI playtest. I don't think it ever went live, at least not while I was involved in the project.

I knew Paul as well, got to know him at some conventions and a gathering at the old RSI headquarters. He was a really good guy, I considered him a friend... even visited his home once. Now I'm wondering whatever happened to him? I should try to check my old contact lists and find out!

With my last active game ending today, I'll be taking a break for a while, folks. All my best, and you can always reach me at thewestdm2 at yahoo dot com if you want. Thanks to the players and the staff for a very fun run down memory lane.

Awww, don't take a break Head Honcho.

I have played in 3 games with you and have placed on the podium each time!

You should certainly send me that lucky rabbit foot if you aren't going to be there for me to bounce my crazy ideas off.

Seriously, I hope your break is a very short one and we all see you back in the fold again as soon as possible.

Taking a break, folks. Will still be on the forum occasionally, and happy to help out with any private games that need drafting services, and strategy and tactics advice to anyone who wants it (although my Third Cycle knowledge is not nearly as good as my Second Cycle knowledge).

Email is still AlamazeHH at gmail dot com, thanks, and have fun!
