Returning from a slumber
#1
I used to play Alamaze about 20 years ago. Always enjoyed playing kingdoms and seeing what I could do. Stopped when it seemed I was always in games with the same groups and the quickly allied (in individual games) and would start attacking. Anyways I am excited for my first game and look forward to the strategery and people.

Titus,

I'd love your take and stories on those early 80's games.

The way in which I even found alamaze was that I had some frineds in the late 90's that played middle earth and other pbm games.

Three specific questions.
1) what about the time delay made it fun?
2) what is your favorite aspect of any abstract game like this?
3) what is the one modernization that you'd like to see?

1. Mail, at first I got the white envelope with the map. I knew what it was but not what was inside. Can't wait 4 1st email already
2. Strategy. Some kingdoms are very powerful to start and can dictate a game, unless u do not communicate and 3 people gang up on u,
3. Either no charge for set up or add more kindgoms, more artifacts and change locarion of kingdoms. I don't think the DW should be in oakendel but what if the giant and demon princes started in region 2, orSO,WA and UN all started in runnimede? Lastly maybe get the cost down and blast old emails about game and get a large amount of players back
