2 questions here, help is appreciated:

1 - Can you sell and then buy on the same turn the same artifact to yourself? This would be to facilitate getting it into a group or to an emmy before the regular agent transfer order.

2- If you have the Rod of Disdain, does the king need for it to be in his possession to use it, or can it be anywhere in your kingdom's possession for the king to use it's power?

You can definitely trade an artifact to yourself. You can even trade it to move it to another asset in your kingdom and then use an agent order to move it again in the same turn.

Trading an artifact to oneself should be treated as a bug in the software that should be fixed. It really is cheating when you think about it...

I don't think it is, really. It burns 2 moves instead of just one so you have to balance that against the convenience of it. And you could certainly imagine an artifact being sold within a kingdom, too.

The Ring of Spells: It adds one level to the highest wizard in the group. If your wizard is at your kingdoms max level with the ring, does it prevent you from successfully researching to your actual max level, thus giving you the additional level from the effect of the ring?
