Counter-espionage
#1
Folks,

Just want to confirm my understanding....does counter-espionage now clear at the end of the turn, or mores specifically, before order 295 or order 385?

Several players and I are now under the impression that it does, based on the known issues thread. If that's the case, how does one prevent prisoners from escaping? In addition, does this mean that there is no possible defense against a 295 by the UN (other than a ward, which seems to still not clear until the 300s).

Would very much appreciate someone clarifying if I've got this wrong.

Sleep status of emissaries was being reset at 305 of the following turn (prior to new sleep spells being cast).
This meant that a sleeping emissary suffered the effects of being slept in the 100s & 200s of the following turn.

This has been fixed, Sleep status is now cleared at the beginning of the turn.

BTW - WARD status is set to continue to 301 on the following turn, and that has been left in place.
An emissary WARDED on turn 10 will continue to have the benefits of the spell THROUGH to order 301 on turn 11.

Guard and Counter espionage effects are cleared at the beginning of every turn.

This would impact orders 615, 691 and 900 as well, would it not?
i.e. there is no way to defend your food supplies with a counter-espionage....

Interesting points Wyand. Your information looks right to me.

BUMP - Ry'vor/Cipher - can you clarify that is how it works and that this was the intent? How does one protect against food spoliage or a prisoner escape?

Appreciate your time in advance,

The Guards table (used for 920 and 925) is cleared at the beginning of the 920 order sequence, so Guards and Counter Espionage remain for a complete cycle, and are NOT being cleared at the beginning of the turn as previously reported.

The turn initialization process does address that table (the source for the earlier reporting), but does not clear the values that provide for the guard/counter espionage benefits.

Thanks Cipher.
