New Player not sure where to look for a game.
#1
Hello all, I just wanted to say hello and get some advice on getting into a game. So far I just signed up for the web as well as the step one process on the main web page. Being new, I did not want to get into some advanced game where being new I get trounced. It guess it will take some time for admins to get me info for payment setup but I would still like to get the ball rolling since it looks like games start infrequently. Thanks in advance, Rogal.

I felt the same way when first signing on. (Not long ago.)

First, you came to the right spot -- this forum is where the new games start.

Second, games start up in fits and starts. The more people who play, the more churn. As people get killed or surrender out of games, they float back into the pool. It may take a couple of weeks for a new regular game starts, but once it does you'll have 3 turns every 2 weeks to keep you busy. There appears to be an anonymous game forming. If you have the patience, I would advise waiting for the next newbie or mentor game. But even if you jump into the fray with a bunch of veterans, they are all very nice and helpful to newbies. Just contact a couple of your nearest neighbors and they'll in all likelihood sign non-agression pacts.

thanks, i'll keep coming back to see new game start ups. That Anon game looks neat, but I am not sure about working with vets for they will all have premade moves they want to do and ill be trying to grow crops hehe.

There is a mentor game that someone dropped out of. Perhaps if Rick feels it is appropriate you could jump in that game and learn the ropes while waiting for another standard steal game to pops up.

If you were to join the anonymous game (no contact with other players i.e. no diplomacy) then you would be better served getting mentors that are not in that specific game. The good news is that there are plenty of us that will help with that.
