Some artifacts were considered under-powered. For example, The Horn of the Intrepid added 2500 to the defense of a PC. The new Great Horn of the Intrepid will add the lesser of 10,000 or 100% to the defense of a population center and it will detect accurately masked, ambushing and invisible groups in the area of its PC.
The Standard of Valor was another not considered powerful enough. It provided a 15% defensive bonus (not bad) and reduced retreat damage by 25%. The new version will provide a 20% defensive bonus, reduces retreat damage 50%, increases group morale 5% permanently before each battle up to 160 morale, and reduces attrition of its group by 3% after every battle.
The Wand of Lightning has acted like a Power 2 lightening strike. It will now provide a Lightning Strike at the power level of the highest wizard in the group AND it will add 10 points (same as a general) to the patrol's value in an unusual encounter if the highest wizard in the patrol participates in the encounter.
The Plow of the Prophet tripled food production. Now (soon) it will provide the greater of 20,000 food production or 3x base food production and add 8 points (like a Baron of a king with 16 influence) of status quo to the PC it is in each turn without an order (intrinsic).
Just some examples. The Ring of Power and Elan, Flame of the North will be more powerful. Weapon artifacts in general will be much more powerful and aid substantially in Unusual Encounters.
Many other changes. Some artifacts leaving, some new ones entering.

Is this REX only or are there going to be SVC?
If REX only I am in. If SVC no thanks, I will wait for a REX game.

All the ESO and SVC choices are detailed in both the Commands and the General Rules. Previously, these were assigned by the program and some were too easy to accomplish. Now the player chooses, and these are generally pretty well balanced. We did have a quick win today by Jumpingfist as the DE where his enemy dropped in the first five turns, he picked Rivalry as a condition, he acheived 8 fleets in two different seas, and on the final turn move to have 3 substantial and 2 significant regions and those were all his conditions. Well done, but I anticipate criticism again on this being too easy. Just remember, this is a top player, playing specifically to get his SVC, aided by his natural enemy basically not a factor and a couple other drops that helped.

Now that 157 is complete, I would also like to jump back in the saddle.
RyVor will this game be it for the foreseeable future or can I expect an Anon Rex game soon?
I am the greatest swordsman that ever lived. Say, um, can I have some of that water?
