Game 128 - Steel Resurgent
#41
Interesting That Jumpingfist seems to have a short memory. Should I post Turn 5 where you attacked one of my Pop Centers? The GI and WA attempted to take out the DE but were thwarted. You cant claim to be the defenders now. You started the aggression even though you were warned not to and you paid the price. What is surprising is how many other kingdoms joined you. The RA is down and out and others will follow.

The war started between T3 and T4 so not hard to believe I would try to help my GI buddy on T5. Wish I learned how crappy my troops were back then and did not try to invade the capital a couple turns ago.

Hey, I own my aggression! I attacked the GN because my troops wanted to play Gnomeball. I carried the fight on into Arcania because (a) my troops were close by (b) I'm allied with the AN who, of course, would like to see the DE go down and © because the DE told me I would have no chance if I did! The RD did show up at my capital, but then proceeded to siege it with 20 brigades! Big sisssy - wasted extra turns to take my capital when the defense was only in the low 30s - man up (dragon up?) and fly over the walls next time. Because it was a siege, almost all my people got away - king, prince, level 11 and two HPs! Only a lowly baron was slow enough to get caught and I have lots more where that one came from. I did leave behind the two rotted heads of executed Demon Princes, though - I figured the DR could play skittles with them.

Yes Jumpingfist we play the games to learn. Like DuPont you need to take responsibility for your actions. No one will criticize you for helping an Ally but you cant come back later and claim that you were not the aggressor. You and the GI started the war and we are all paying the price.

DuPont I am surprised. I had thought you a better player. I hear the GN has kicked you out of Runnimeade and now the DE has kicked you out of Arcania. You should know that once you start attacking you need to finish the job. Like we did to the Ranger.

"Putting all teams together equals 8 for AOE and 6 for the combined alliances. Just because they get beat up does not mean you get to no longer claim them."

Ok, maybe I am bad at math, but I cannot even get close to 8 for the defending alliance. At best, it is DE RD WI SO and BL. the GN and DW have never done anything (except the GN got hit early by AN and TR alliance - no foul there, but hope you are not adding him to the defending alliance just because he got hit by the TR and AN). DA has done nothing. I get to 5.
As for the initial aggressors, GI and WA both attacked. Whether it is mutual alliances or not, clearly the TR and AN and UN are fully committed to that alliance now. As for the Elf defending, a sneak attack with the AN into Northern Mists could hardly be called defense.
So, that puts GI WA TR AN UN RA and EL all in the one alliance of allies, so 7 to the 5 involved in the defending alliance.
I get all the rhetoric, but at least get the math right.
And calling us the Alliance of Evil is all good if you choose rhetoric over truth, but let's not lose sight that this all started when the GI and WA allied and decided that the GI would take over Arcania from the DE. So, yes, we are in fact the defending alliance. And we don't have NAP breakers on our team; we only eliminate them. And yet, still, the UN is getting info from the oath-breaking RA to try to take over more pop centers. Yeah, good, let's support NAP-breaking.
Oh well, the game is exciting and fun (except for the personal attacks by the RA in his published email to the BL). The east side of the board is secure, so now we bring the fight to Arcania.
And kudos to the AN and the EL for a well-coordinated attack on Northern Mists - actually well done.

Aww so serious I can spin my tail how I like. Would I have attacked you had nobody attack me maybe I am not sure would depend on how the GI was doing. I also would have taken the deal you proposed to the GI had I known I may have even pushed for him to as well. But fact still is I was not the actual aggressor but the ally to the aggressor. Once an ally I am in it to the end good or bad. I have no regrets to this game and find it enjoyable trying to recover from the 4 on 1 matchup I was given to start.

Remember, only the players in your game will know what position you are playing if you don't put something like (TR) at the beginning of every post. That leaves about 400 visitors a day not knowing who you are, what you mean, or why they should read it.

Your math is still bad. There was never a 4-1 against the poor WA. There was some bad luck for you where the RD happened to land on your capitol the same turn the GI refused the DE's counter-offer. Now it is 3-1 against the WI in Northern, but I have no issues with that. Bring it on.
I am a little disappointed in my battle with the Ancient Ones at DK. From invisible status, my Witchlord troops with 5 brigades surprised 2 AN brigades, with my Level 10 throwing an earthquake and my invisible group attacking on a 3. I guess I need to study battle mechanics more, because a Level 10 earthquake seems like it would wipe out 2 lowly, surprised AN brigades with 11,000 points of damage from that spell alone. Where can I find more data on battle mechanics?

(WA) like that rick? so they know who is speaking?
I think summon death would have worked better in your case. I learned the thing attacking DE capital using earthquake I had even troops and figured an earthquake would help put me over the top getting good damage in the early rounds. Attack at a 3 but guess my troops still started to get hit to hard and retreated. Spells in combat just do not mean the same thing as actual troops with the same numbers. For my case my WA troops defense value must be terrible. but I would think WI troops should be a bit tougher based on being the strongest of the pure mages and all.

as for the numbers. and no not poor warlock. I have no had any problem being attacked even if it does not sound that way. Nothing wrong with the attacks but that just does not sound as good so no fun. here is from I think the last turn I controlled amberland
Reports from the countryside produce Regional Intelligence concerning the sighting of the
following foreign military groups:
REGION GROUP NAME GROUP SIZE
AMBERLAND 1ST WITCHLORD DIVISION
AMBERLAND 1ST RED DRAGON ARMY
AMBERLAND 2ND DWARVEN DIVISION
AMBERLAND 2ND RED DRAGON DIVISION
AMBERLAND 1ST BLACK DRAGON ARMY GROUP

DW was not fighting me we had a nap. he was only there to "just walking through nothing special" happened of course to land on my old capital the same turn the RD moved off of it. this is what I was calling skirting the NAP, all good I had an invisible group there and took it back anyway. BL ended up attacking the GI capital but I did not know that at the time. GN keeps saying himself neutral even though he is openly allied to RD and sending him large amounts of food until he was finally attacked. you still do not want to count the GN even though he has a higher production in his little town than I have total. Lets make a real world example. if two countries were at war and another sent food and supplies to help feed the armies of one of those countries you would probably basically be at war with them as well. The RA never was with us I think even your SO can confirm that. We had talks but nothing came about. he was a lone ranger and did not really want to work with the rest of us.

forgot to add this was also about the time the SO showed up. So I think maybe only 3 directly attacking at one time but plenty of people taking turns. Still no problem with it. I never felt like I was unjustly being teamed up on. just spinning my tail.
