I was getting impatient during the show as there was no episode the previous week, and they of course left the main event until the last. This season has been more "talky" with what I would (maybe mistakenly) call minuets: lots of two character dialogues.
Yes, the Red Viper was some kind of fabulous spearman, not a swordsman. And that actor for Prince Oberan (sp) was one of the best. Obviously a stunt double used for most of the decision by the gods.
In any case, Game of Thrones is still the best TV ever produced. That's not really a debate. The previous best was HBO's "Rome". After that, it becomes a debate.

With all due respect, I think most of us would agree that Night Court was the best show ever.

Absolute classic. Early M.A.S.H. was great as well.

I was going to say 'The Brady Bunch'. How come there is no Tiki Idol artifact in Alamaze? I would want Dusi to find it.

Breaking Bad is over-rated. Ignore the last season and I'd put Dexter on the top.

Breaking Bad may well be overrated but only because it has achieved SO MUCH acclaim. It is still a singularly impressive work. IMO, the performances and cinematography put it over the top.
Dexter - sigh. I really really really love the first two seasons. Season 4 (Trinity) is truly great, buoyed by that incredible performance by John Lithgow. The others, not so much. Season 3 (Jimmy Smits) is a dog. Season 5 (Julia Stiles) is OK. Season 6 (Colin Hanks) is honestly kinda hacky and the final season was horrible. That's not a great batting average.
We can all place a different value on 'sticking the landing' but for me, how a show ends can seriously affect how I view it in its entirety. Dexter, Lost, Battlestar - all of them shows that I wouldn't dare to miss an episode of at times, and all good shows that blew it at the buzzer. That keeps them all off my best of list.

My vote is for Lost. Love GoT. I watched the first two seasons then couldn't wait for season three so I read the books. Fantastic show. I too thought Rome may have been the best show at one time. The first season of the Walking Dead was like watching a hour long movie each episode for purely productional values that gets my vote.
