No New Turn
#1
Anyone else not receive their turns yet? Usually it is right at 11 am central time for me, as of this writing, that is 13 minutes overdue.

It is a compliment to Mike and Rick that we are all anxiously awaiting turns at exactly 11:00 am CST and assume that something has gone wrong if we don't have them by 11:03 Smile.
Ok, sitting here anxiously awaiting while I should actually be working....

Mail daemon failed so no emails were sent out.

It wasn't an issue with our game software or server so I restarted processing today's turns (around 12:20pm EST). If you didn't receive your turn by 12:30pm EST then let me know.

Well I wished it was a problem with our software then I could fix it but this was a network/administration issue which is out of my area. Only way I know to get around it is to restart our process (sorry).

Turns are in! No more hovering around my e-mail spamming the refresh button! Let's see what I messed up on this turn!

I'll try to investigate this issue since this is the 2nd or 3rd time that it has happened in the past year. Here's the network error:

ERROR, Emailer.sendEmailToPlayer() failure

I'm sure that somehow that Sorcerer character is to blame for the problem! Dodgy

UnknownHostException seems odd.

From the stack trace, this looks like your code got the exception trying to connect to the mail server.
If the server were down, I would expect this. However, it would be some form of connection refused
error. This error is telling you that a dns lookup for smtp.emailsrvr.com failed. I'm assuming that is
the host you are configured to use and that it normally works.

If you are on a Windows machine, I'm no help. But if you were on Linux I would suggest looking
at /var/log/messages for dns problems. I was about to say look at your mail daemon logs because
you said the daemon crashed, but based on the host name you are connecting to, that is probably
on the email server on your provider.

If smtp.emailsrvr.com is not the email server you are configured to use, then where did that host name come from?

I'd add code to catch the exception, log it, sleep for a few seconds and retry a few more times (not infinitely) before bailing.

I'm sure I didn't say anything you don't already know, but I'm saying it just in case. Smile
