OOC: I've PM'ed with Mad Hatter and I understand where he's coming from, even though we may disagree on a point or two. He's cool, and I really don't think he bears anyone any ill will at all. He is still dropping for various reasons -- not just this disagreement -- but my hope is that he comes back at some point.
Anyway, I'm going down the standby list now. Will report back when we have a taker.
EDIT: Thudargh is the new WA player. Welcome, Thudargh!

RA -> BL
Greetings Majestic Desert King,
Despite my initial setbacks with the Scarlet Wyrm, Synisvania is prospering under my control; so much so that the independent Gnome accountants who do a kingdom-wide assessment every 6 months suggest that the Rangers are flourishing like no other (and even more so than that loud-mouthed, smitten Dwarf). I hope that the Southern Sands continues to grow and prosper and that your maneuvers to the west accomplish your goals.
I would advise, however, that the Red Dragon has returned to the area. He has an Army (4RD) at SV, an Army (1RD) at PZ, and a Patrol (3RD) at PZ as well. Should he opt to stay in Synisvania he will find the Ranger Army ready and will be met with steel though I confess, I may start operations in the Eastern Steppes if he chooses not to take that very region that he originally got all bent out of shape over. Similarly, his time of controlling Jukanta is quickly coming to an end. However, I might point out that Synisvania may not be his target this time. I suspect he may have his sights set on your Southern Sands, so please act accordingly.

Status of Kingdom Relationships
The following chart shows which kingdoms have declared allies and enemies. In addition, it
shows which kingdoms have entered into marriages of state, a binding form of non-aggression
which prevents hostile military and political actions toward the wedded kingdom. The chart
also displays the natural enemies in the campaign. Natural enemies are enemies which will
always remain enemies throughout the camppaign. A kingdom's influence will rise and fall
proportionally to the failures and successes of its natural enemy. To see the declarations a
kingdom has made, read across the row beginning with their abbreviation. To see the
declarations made for or against a certain kingdom, read down from the column underneath their
abbreviation, as follows:
'A' - Marriage Status ' ' - Neutrality 'e' - Declared Enemy
'a' - Declared Ally 'E' - Natural Enemy

OOC: Congratulations on taking Avalon. The former Warlock player was unhappy with how things turned out, and for that and other reasons, he has dropped this game. You may be confused because he deleted his posts.
Thudargh, who plays the UN in 195, is jumping in as a standby for WA. You may want to direct your diplomacy his way, now.
Speaking only for myself, I think I can understand how and why things went down (as can JF and Acererak, apparently). Maybe the WA's new management will also understand, and perhaps the two of you can reach an understanding. Just my $0.02!

UN-WA
New King, greetings to you, we send. A disagreement, with the Old King, we had. As to why, the DW King, a good explanation, he did give. Avalon, we now have. In Amberland, town and village information, we also have. If peace you agree, and Avalon we keep, protection from information, with rights to outbidding, we will give. Town and village locations, we can provide, or keep secret, if choose it you do.
UN-GN
With thanks, we are giving you. Of defense agreement, letting out, we will take. Not much help, we would be, anyway. No armies, really, and emissaries, scattered they are. And fight with WA, we might have. Maybe not, maybe. If help in other ways, we can do, let us know, please do.
UN-BL
With thanks to GN, in your fight with him, neutral we remain. Credit for agents, you still have, but for targets, GN cannot be.
UN-RD
Your village, taking we are, this turn. Letting you know, I just am.
UN-EL
Your town, two or three turns more, we may need. Letting you know, I just am. Protection, you have now, from information, and outbidding.
UN-WI
Your lesser village, soon we will be taking. So protection from information, you will have. Outbidding, though, you will not. One or two turns, we may need. Protection, you have now.

Desert King,
To clarify some positions that may have been unclear in the past, I continue to bear you no ill will whatsoever. If you are willing to understand that we will take the actions we deem necessary to divide what was a contested region -- even if that regional dividing is with your natural enemy -- then we should have no issues with one another.
Separately, I have a history of actual conflict with the Ranger Queen, although that initial sparring has given way to some months of rather apathetic coexistence. It may be that that ennui continues, or it may be that we end up in actual conflict again. Regardless, unless things heat up and you then choose to intervene on the Ranger Queen's behalf, again, we should have no issues with one another.
Cordially,
Grundun, Chief Diplomat for the Dwarves

(WA)
Avalon had fallen.
The court was awash in whispers about it, though none dared speak openly of it. The Grand Magus had not yet been informed, for his anger was as certain as it would be terrible…messengers seldom survived it. But the truth could no longer be avoided – the Magus had directly asked about Avalon’s taxes, and the prime minister had no choice but to answer.
For precious moments, silence reigned.
Then the cursing began. It started low but intense – too quiet to truly make out the words, not that any were foolish enough to lean forward to hear. Then a crescendo slowly built and with it the temperature of the room. By the time the words could be clearly understood echoing throughout the chamber, drinks had begun steaming and papers smoldering. Still the rant continued and grew. Members of the court began to flee, slowly at first but soon in a stampede. All but the prime minister, who remained prostate before his master in abject terror. It was he who witnessed the final event – in an epiphany of pure rage, flames burst forth from the Grand Magus’s body, flames of an intense crimson white that boiled up and away, flowing out every window of the keep and lighting the sky for miles around. It was later said that even the blind could see it.
It was three days before anyone dared reenter the great chamber. All that was found were ashes and a single ember. As the court watched, a gentle breeze caused the ember to glow a bright red. The red grew until a single flame came into being. The flame grew and multiplied until a bonfire raged. And within that fire, a figure could be perceived. Slowly the flames receded, and the figure remained standing before the court.
“Well, what do you know? My Phoenix Spell works! I wonder who killed me.”
There was shocked silence.
“Oh come now, this shouldn’t be that surprising. I am the Red Warlock and the legend of the Phoenix is relatively well known. What would have been surprising is if I hadn’t been reborn in fire.”
Shocked silence continued.
“Really? Still speechless? It’s like you’ve never seen a naked …”
The words trailed off as the figure glanced down. The torchlight flickered and danced on some rather unexpected curves.
“…woman?!”
