Failure rolls
#1
I’m curious if others have experienced a disproportionate amount of failures on agent missions, and attacks, whether it be US or pop center, where leaders have very little chance of death.

I ask because I have, for example: a game as SO I investigated an fine US with standard attack lost three leaders, and Brek/John said the failed rolls were (around:5%,<1%,<1%. Same as FT lost a P4 on fine US using Mirror Image, extremely low chance of death.

The UN game I just finished my agents although successful in minor to major mission almost failed the escape part of mission, causing me to retrain at a constant rate. Most had a <5% chance at any failure. Actually had a couple killed.

This has been a running theme for my positions for a while now. I was curious if anyone else has had this issue.

Thanks

Nowhere near as bad as the luck you've described Strong, but I had a Warlord die in a Fine Encounter when he was accompanied by other leaders and wizards, and a P3 wizard die in a combat where my force lost 15% (early game, nothing special about the other side). I know in speaking with friends who are also playing, anecdotally when they were playing dragon kingdoms they'd constantly lose leaders to US and even a fight against a village.

Losing a Warlord on a US w other leaders is astronomically low.

I recall an incident way back in the second cycle, so over 20 years ago, where I had a great Giant position. I had a goal of three p-3s (and other items) by turn 10. I achieved it. On turn 11 I attacked an Elf town. Nothing special, just a town. I didn't cast any combat spells. All three wizards died in that battle. I was crushed.

I recall that to this day. I can't tell you anything else about that game.

That said, I can't tell you how many similar battles I've fought where no one died.

I would say that my experience since restarting has been the opposite. I'm rarely able to kill anyone in battle, even with weapon artifacts. I heard from some friends that they wiped out an opposing group. 100% casualties. All enemy leaders and wizards (6) survived. When it's random, it's random.
