Probably no changes—honestly, many spells in combat are even more powerful; they’re just less offensive.

I mean, this has to be the option. If you are next to a wizard (or the DK), you got to crush them fast or face the music. If you are a wizard, hole up, try not to make noise, and build up.
If you are the DK, shrug off stupid attacks as silly and crush souls. Build a wizard to 5, get PF, get trolls, eat lunch. All by turn 5 or so.

P.S. Usually this works except when I was the AM and the SO crushed me on like turn 9, which I've mentioned before. Even a weak wizard can defeat a telegraphed attack (with a good player, of course.)

Thanks, everyone. It’s been a rough couple of weeks. Like I said, he was my 'little' brother, never mind that he could probably snap me like a twig these days after years of rugby and jiu-jitsu. He passed away unexpectedly. The new Alamaze will be dedicated to him. Like me, he loved fantasy. I still remember all the books I passed down to him. He read every one of them and always refused to read anything that wasn’t a real, physical book.

high magic kingdoms are strong. with magic they can do almost anything. But revelation really doesn't say wizard to me. I think of it is more of a priestly thing. maybe changing it to a devout only spell would help balance things and keep a cool spell in the game. It also fits the devout theme better. most of the devout kingdoms are slightly underperforming so a boost is good for balance from that end also. The ancient one already has access to the spell so it won't give an overperforming kingdom a boost.

The consolidated rulebook suggests using priestess in a great temple "It is rumored that a high priestess of noble birth and residing within a Great Temple may cast this spell, but due to the exertion, will perish from the effort (no danger for the wizard)."

But, I've never been able to find that in the order entry system even when I have a devout kingdom and a great temple.

Me either… I like it as a Devout too…

I find it odd that the rulebook includes this section, as if it is hinting at some secret to be discovered.

I think its a relic of the Rick days where he put red herrings in the rule book, like the race of ants.
