Can I have your log-in information so that we can finish out our team game? We are actually in first place even though we are going up against a team of 6 players? PM me or mail me. Either that or can support allow me to enter turns for my Magic teammate until this game ends? It was not this game, and if Ry VOr wil send you the turn info I have no problem, I have paid up until end of month so turns should be free for you. Sorry, fed up with certain people, not our game though, you guys were great and game was fun and going our way.

Keep in mind I am in 174 so be sure not to give away any game details on that one.
I side with Lord Diamond on this sort of thing. It's a player's right to quit but there's no denying it seriously impacts other players who have put months of their time into their games. Anyone has the right to quit of course but we also have the right to remind players that decisions like this do not happen in a vacuum.
I would also like to see the game administers stay on top of dropped positions by announcing as soon as possible in the game so no one has (even a greater) leg up. I think they're doing a good job just restating the importance of this. I would also like to see players in viable positions try to find a replacement for their kingdom instead of chucking it all. Quitting on a team game just seems like bad form, internet anonymity or not. Your wife gets sick? Ok, of course. You get aggravated by the rules? You signed up to be on a team -- just make sure your teammates can pick up your banner or find a replacement. Blowing up months of time that people invested seems like poor etiquette indeed.

I actually agree with you on the team game part.
As for finding a replacement for yourself, numerous nuances can make that tricky, ranging from who pays, to a prior rule of no standbys after T12 (probably should clarify this rule has changed, if it has), to amount of notice, etc. Not saying it can't all be figured out, just that it can be a bit more complex than at first glance.

I have submitted several requests to support regarding game #175. We will see what is determined. I would hope that for Magic games, there could be an exception to the rule if 1 teammate has to leave to where there could be a standby placed in. Unfortunately, due to the timing of this news reaching me, there was no turn submitted at a crucial point in a neck-and-neck game. This alone will likely determine the end-result.
If a game that lasts for 4 months ends due to a player dropping and no standby to fill in, it detracts from the enjoyment of the game as a whole. Because then you start asking yourself: what is the point of putting in the time and money for 4 months only for the game to be arbitrarily decided by admin policies designed for regular games, when Standby players are ready and willing to fill in for a Magic game at a later point in the game? Just my thoughts on this, feel free to weigh in.

Stromguard and Kronin are electing to withdraw from #175. We look forward to seeing you all in future matches. This is two Magic games in a row where a potential victor has been forced to withdraw before the game ends due to "drama"...

What is the Drama? Is it in-game stuff or outside?

Based on his earlier comment in this thread, I imagine it's the same straw that broke the camel's back for me, VBM, and Canticar in 164, "the ability to ally with non-teamed kingdoms in the magic format. Providing support, preventing capture/death of emissaries, etc."
