New Higher level Spell idea
#21
Yeah, there is a new model for the High Priestess in 3rd Cycle.  First you need to find a Noble Maiden.  Then there is The Test for the Gift.

Actually, you need to build a Temple first! Three steps before you get to use all her incredible abilities.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Here's a spell idea for 3rd Cycle (and/or 2nd Cycle). Add spell scrolls/parchments to the game. These could be randomly scattered about the game map much like artifacts are. They are picked up automatically if moved over by a patrol or brigade-sized group or by any group if they end their turn on that square. The scroll/parchment could have any spell in the game on it (generated randomly) and is temporarily added to your spell list. Any wizard (or adept) in the group with the scroll/parchment could cast the spell; the catch of course is that you only get to use it one time, then its gone (removed from your spell list). Another plus, is that the spell cast from the scroll/parchment does NOT count against your base number of orders (i.e., its free to cast; doesn't count against your influence total). You could also add them as additional treasure at the end of Unusual Sightings. Or you could have XX new ones generate each turn on the map.
