With 24 possible the # of combinations is indeed 2704156. It will take us a long time to exhaustively test the different combinations. Better get started on those Speed Alamaze games I'm suggesting Smile

3rd cycle because you choose one kingdom or the other it is more like binary to figure out possible combinations so 2 to the power of 12 or 4096 different combos. Still a ton of different games just with kingdoms.

Sorry, but that's not correct. 2 to the 12 would be the combinations (permutations actually) to pick any two kingdoms out of 12 where order matters and repetition is allowed. Not the problem we are solving at all. The correct answer is as I stated.

ok what Ry Vor is looking for is possible combination available in a 12 player game.  he is specifically not looking for if you pick amazon 1st one time or amazon 4th a different time it counting as a different combination

in 3rd cycle you have 24 kingdom but only 1 of 2 kingdoms will be played for each zone and you effectively have 12 zones.

Zone 1: High Elves or Druid
Zone 2: Cimmerians or Necromancer
Zone 3: Dwarves or Warlock
Zone 4: Sorcerer or Amazon
Zone 5: Black Dragon or Sacred Order
Zone 6: Demon Princes or Atlantians
Zone 7: Gnomes or Halflings
Zone 8: Ranger or Illusionist
Zone 9: Lizard Men or Dark Elves
Zone 10: Nomads or Ancient Ones
Dispersed: Underworld or Pirate
Dispersed: Red Dragon or Tyrant

so it does not matter when you pick the nomad it will remove the AN from the pool and zone 10 will be slotted for.  sounds a lot like a register to me of 0s and 1s with 12 fields.

I will list all possible outcomes with a smaller sample size.  using only zones 1 - 3   2^3=8
EL CI  DW
EL CI  WA
EL NM DW
EL NM WA
DU CI  DW

DU CI  WA
DU NM DW
DU NM WA

So with 12 zones you now have 2^12 = 4096 possible combinations of kingdoms being played when the game is formed.

the results is of course very different if you are not limited to pick 1 kingdom vs the other for each zone.

anyway more important as LD said waiting for the game to start.   still hitting the refresh botton

Did not get it yet, just practicing to ensure I make it into the Beta Smile

This test game is nearly ready to go. I'm just waiting on the approval of the spell lists then it can start. The new website is up-to-date with everything and has the new spells available but I'll need about two weeks yet to write the code for them in the main game engine/order checker.

If Mike has done most of the programming for 3rd Cycle, that's really impressive.  I still have lots to do, the battle cries and phase descriptions, and more importantly, the 3rd Cycle Rules update.  New kingdom character names and some other aesthetics don't need to delay the start.  Again, we are testing the interface and kingdom "like-ability" to use a phrase I don't really like.

So I am suggesting a Saturday start to the test game.  Again, testers, do not expect this game to go more than about 10 turns, then the beta or two betas will start with three turns a week.  In the test, there of course is no status points to Valhalla:  please try, even by contacting a nearby kingdom, to engage in combat.  Test the new tactics and combat phases.  Try the new special orders, exploit your traits, try the new spells.    It really doesn't matter if you even control a region.

We're counting on all 12 testers to provide feedback each turn on what they tried and how it worked, and just the feel of the game vs. 2nd Cycle to support@alamaze.co.

Yes and the kingdom setups got a face-lift of sorts for those kingdoms that didn't have a portrait before. Also more info is now displayed on them like showing a kingdom's full and complete spell list (all 9 levels including what level certain spells become intrinsic). More info is forthcoming regarding statistical data for companion and possibly summoned troop types but I won't have time to get that done before the test game starts. Instead, I'm working on getting a bunch of new features done before turn 1 along with special kingdom effects like innate Summer/Winter Attack (automatic, no TAC specified), Flanking (TAC 4), Night Attack (TAC 5), Barrage (TAC 6), and Fight To The Last Man (TAC 7).

Sacred Order seems fanatical enough to be allowed to use TAC7. I hope to never run into those kingdom brigades in the plains when they decide all or nothing.
