     Status of Kingdom Relationships

        The following chart shows which kingdoms have declared allies and enemies. In addition, it
        shows which kingdoms have entered into marriages of state, a binding form of non-aggression
        which prevents hostile military and political actions toward the wedded kingdom. The chart
        also displays the natural enemies in the campaign. Natural enemies are enemies which will
        always remain enemies throughout the camppaign. A kingdom's influence will rise and fall
        proportionally to the failures and successes of its natural enemy. To see the declarations a
        kingdom has made, read across the row beginning with their abbreviation. To see the
        declarations made for or against a certain kingdom, read down from the column underneath their
        abbreviation, as follows:

The Desert King stretched his magnificent, powerful wings to their full span in agreement with his supreme commander.  "And how fared your mission?"


"I have confirmed that the dark elves died by flame, tooth, and claw.  There can be no doubt that your duplicitous cousin deceived the dark elves, violated the ancient treaty, and enacted genocide.  Each of the former dark elven holdings show signs of dragon attacks.  Not a single dark elf remains alive.  The locations of the former dark elven holdings have been inscribed upon this map, MiLord."

The Desert King looked down upon the citadel of Cradia as he mourned the loss of an entire race of long-lived people from whence many friends had been made throughout the vast centuries of his life.  "I remember when Cradia echoed with the sound of metalworking and mining as the dwarves sought to coax beauty and wealth from this very mountain.  That was a time before Darin the First.  It pained my soul when the dwarves departed Cradia and left all of Runnimede to the gnomes.  Now the dwarves, mightiest of engineers, will possess not a single city in the entirety of the realms of Alamaze.  Truly, this is a depressing time.  Please see that the following correspondence is delivered, my friend."

You will find the town that is promised to you twelve clicks east of your most southern village at the eastern edge of the great mountains of southern Runnimede.  You will find the citizenry eager to assist you in whatever commerce you prefer.  They are hard working, good hearted folk.  Truly salt of the earth.  The gold shipments each month shall continue unabated as that is a gift from one king to another.

The good Ranger folk have requested assistance in their defensive war against the red wyrms and yellow dwarfs.  I am eager to depart Runnimede but am unwilling to do so without possession of Cradia and a promise that you will cease to assist my bellicose cousin (game-long peace between our two nations.)  Are you still uninterested? I ask no more of you than the dwarf willingly gave to the Scarlet Wyrm.

I am willing to increase my monthly gift to mysterious Yoda to cover what assistance you might need in your conflict.  Please arrange targets and prices with Yoda and I will transfer such sums each month on your behalf.  I regret that I am unable to send wyvern flights into Synisvania as the gnome is proving to be as stalwart in opposing dragons as we had hoped from the dwarf.

I am truly pleased to learn that you and Yoda have settled upon peace between your two trusted kingdoms.  I beg an indulgence from you great lord, if it pleases you to assist a peaceful neighbor.  I desire the location of the gnome village in Arcania.  I do not desire to retain control of any holding within your realm, but believe that some dragon food has wandered into your realm and with summer fast approaching I wish to maintain the health and vitality of my peace-seeking dragons.  Please consider this request and know that if I can provide some equivalent service as compensation I am willing to do so.  Best wishes for wealth and power to you, my friend.



The Desert King grinned fiercely upon observing in the distance his Dragon Knight astride the alpha wyvern winging towards him with at least four flights of reptiles soaring in their wake.  Pride welled in his great breast at the sight of so fierce a force.  While the Desert King still hoped to avoid vast bloodshed upon the walls of Cradia, he steeled himself to the inevitable conflict should his diplomatic overtures continue to fail.  He simply could not allow the Scarlet Wyrm to receive the wealth of Runnimede - sent to him as foodstuff - in addition to the three cities he already possessed along with rulership of the Eastern Steppes.  While he remained confident that the centuries-old elves and immortal witchlord did not intend to sit idly by as the Scarlet Wyrm obtained all he desired, he was less confident that they would act against the might of the red dragons any time soon.  Some of the most brilliant tactics he had ever heard devised throughout the many centuries of his existence had failed when implemented too late.  Routine tactics implemented in a timely fashion were often the most effective.  The Desert King's mind continued to brood upon his thoughts while he outwordly spread his vast wings, lifted his mighty head, and trumpted a greeting to his new subjects and old friends.  The world was certainly more interesting than it had been in a long while!

By thunder, that's the spirit! Your resistance could almost be called Dwarven in its stoutness. In honor of your fine attitude, we will stop being dismissive toward you, and treat with you in a manner worthy of some of the land's more valiant warriors.

Given our people's history, I cannot yet wish you luck, but we are nevertheless watching developments with great interest.
