Ry Vor do you really like playing the Demon Prince that much? I remember in a game a couple months ago you played them

I love all my children equally.  This particular game had two openings and one was the empty Arcania.  I thought by promising to claim that kingdom by last Monday if not otherwise chosen, we would quickly get the 12th and final player, if not also the 11th, which we did.

While not one of the few players that have played every kingdom to conclusion, I think I'm close.  I still haven't played the Ancient Ones or the Trolls.  (Maybe some bias against Torvale?)

Just makes me think, maybe immodestly, how different a game it is playing, say The Demon Princes from playing, say, The Red Dragons.  I wonder if there is another game with so many differences between positions in a multi-human player strategy game to that degree, let alone played on for 30 years, and continues to introduce differences and nuance between kingdoms.

The way DuPont played the demon princes has made me change my mind. I once said I'd never play the DE. I actually would not mind playing them now after seeing he played them

The news they can Demonic Submission above enemy limits makes me think they are very worth playing. It was one of those things that I never bothered trying, as I assumed it would be a waste of an action.

This exploit has already sparked some negotiating between the AN and DE.   I really feel with the DE able effectively ignor the enemy declaration people will need to consider taking them out before becoming a victim.   Declaring enemy is no longer enough of a deterrent so how does that effect reactions.  Perhaps in this game it is still ok because you can talk but in an anon game will be nteresting to see if the DE is hit sooner rather than later.

Probably this should be on the 3rd Cycle thread.  Kingdoms have special abilities, characteristics, as well as traits.  In 3rd Cycle, we identify Traits.  We will probably disclose all the special abilities as well - those things generally unique to one kingdom, so not Traits.  Yes, some kingdoms have an ability that over-rule, ah, the rules.
