#539 - Full On Steel

If anyone is bored in this game, send me a private message. There's now 4 kingdoms DA/RA/NO/UN spread across Torvale and Runnimede. I guess that Nomad enemy declaration was a mistake (should have been SO not SA). Multiple groups at my hidden pc. I figured if I captured an agent there in a previous turn, the hidden pc is no longer safe and needed to move elsewhere. Dang RA found it already though. Next turn will be interesting...

Uncle Mike
Thank the GN for your hidden capitol being found. Before they starting killing everyone not relocating to an inhabited hex, I built about 10 lvl 1 agents. Spread them around, and then shared the info will allies. RA divined the rest. Had lots of orders, and no wizards to train, so had tons of gold too.

(NO) As uuncle Mike guessed, the NO declaring SA enemy was an error on the drop down menu and should have been SO.  I have already informed Pagan Knight.  It's a good thing my distance vision is better than my reading vision.  The Nomad needs stronger magnifiers! Tongue

Sorcerer King here. Was expecting the Dark Elf and Ranger to show up at my capital this turn. Instead the Nomad arrived. That's ok. Just wanted them to know that after the upcoming battle, I'll be using the Nomad's headscarf to wipe my arse Smile

You would think I would have known better after seeing the Wise One destroy three other positions in the past two games with his invisible forces but Noooooooooo - Wookie the Rookie had to try for his capitol in a little village in Arcania.  What could possibly go wrong?  When I got the report of shimmering I knew I was in trouble.  His 8 wizards threw 4 kill and four combat spells, killing two leaders before the battle started along with 2/3 of my forces.  His 5 brigades of specters were more than a match for my five remaining and badly damages brigades.

Uncle Mike my hat --- and my head are off to you sir as you put another notch in your magic wand.  So much for Mike being outnumbered by 4-1.  Maybe if the remaining nine all work against him you might have a chance?  I'll post the battle below for the entertainment it provides and as a warning - don't mess with the Wise One!

Battle between the 2nd Sorcerer full division and the 2nd Nomad full division in the
              plains of area UL:

                        Sorcerer                       Nomad

                                      Commanders
Captain Zugla of Zamor          Commander Zanno the True
Centurion Irian Specter         Captain Major Scourge of Vale
                   Centurion Taris Goldeyes        Captain Shakar

                                       Wizards
Power-6 Ixian Traveler      Power-5 Tegis the Spider
Power-6 Xylo the Spider     Power-3 Valir
                       Power-6 Zalkalzar

                                       Brigades
5 Specters Regular             1 Nomads Veteran
                                                   2 Nomads Regular
                                                   1 Minotaurs Regular
                                                   1 Zealots Regular

                                     Combat Factors
                              None                 Good Leaders
                                                   Very Low Morale

                                   Tactical Selection
                    Determined Attack              Entrenched

The sight of so many Specters in the 2nd Sorcerer has caused fear among the ranks of their
enemy. In the first hour of morning, the 2nd Sorcerer full division eagerly swept toward
the defensive position of the 2nd Nomad full division led by Commander Zanno the True.
Being issued the entrenchment directive, the defending troops dug in the surrounding
terrain and prepared themselves against an attack despite the loss of mobilty in
performing this defensive countermeasure. Holding that their nation had declared the
Sorcerer to be an enemy of their interests, the Nomad forces were noticably energized and
benefited from increased morale as they prepared to battle their declared enemy! As the
attackers crossed the flat grasslands, the battle began.

                                      - Archers -

The long range Sorcerer mixed types of missilers and the natural horse and foot archers of
the Nomad force initiated their attack. The Sorcerer forces imposed minor casualties upon
the Nomad ranks as the Nomad inflicted light losses to their enemy. The short range
Sorcerer mixed types of missilers and the natural horse and foot archers of the Nomad
force initiated their attack. The Sorcerer forces dealt out light casualties upon the
Nomad forces in return, the Nomad imposed minor casualties to their foes.

                                       - Magic -

Sorcerer wizards dismounted scarcely past where the defensive missiles were falling and
began an elaborate spell. Ixian Traveler's presence was evident. Sonic blasts shot forth
from his position. Xylo the Spider likewise let his presence be known in similar manner.
Power-6 wizard Xylo the Spider made a series of intricate gestures. A low rumbling began,
which quickly escalated into a full scale earthquake, immediately below the main ranks of
the hapless enemy! Many perished. Zalkalzar also let his presence be seen in similar
fashion. Power-6 wizard Zalkalzar made a series of intricate gestures. A swirling wind
began, which quickly escalated into a full scale tornado that swooped down upon the main
ranks of the enemy! Nomad conjurers dismounted barely beyond the range of defending bowmen
and began an elaborate spell. Incanting forcibly Tegis the Spider's presence wizard force
impacted the course of the battle. Arcs of searing fire shot forth from his position.
Valir also had his presence be seen in like manner. The Sorcerer ranks inflicted
tremendous losses upon the Nomad forces and, in return, the Nomad inflicted minor losses
    to their enemy.

                                     - Conclusion -

Despite a valiant effort by the rear guard, the Nomad force could not successfully
withdraw from the field: they were destroyed. Nomad casualties were put at 100%. The group
was destroyed! Sorcerer casualties were put at 13.39%. All Sorcerer leaders survived the
battle. Fighting gloriously was Zugla of Zamor, who once again has distinguished himself.
He is now a Captain Major. Fighting gloriously was Irian Specter, who again has
distinguished himself. He is now a Captain. Taris Goldeyes impressed and has been promoted
as a Captain. All the Sorcerer wizards survived the fray. The troops are anxious for more
victories: morale is up! For defeating the 2nd Nomad, the 2nd Sorcerer has acquired
Anglakel, Sword from the Sky as spoils of war!

Uncle Mike is pretty bad-ass, but I still hope it is not really a 4 on 1   Undecided

Actually it was 5 vs 1 for a couple of turns while the GN lasted. It's ok though. I don't think they're really trying that hard to defeat me. Still waiting to see if the UN can get thru my guards to assassinate my wizards...

I'm curious, Nomad what spells did you cast for the battle? I didn't do anything fancy, just death and kill leader/wizard spells hoping to outnumber your protections. But those 4 death spells were nasty, taking out 12 brigades plus -60% morale loss for the remaining forces. Good luck surviving that! I'm still at that location btw. Was hoping the DA/RA would show up with their large militaries for some more fun but they have other concerns I guess Dodgy

Did you use your Pow 3 to protect wiz and heroes and Pow 5 to destroy undead?

I cast 3 dispels but I didn't know which groups you had so one failed.  Also a valor and a flame wall.  I blocked a couple of spells but you just had too many.  As we say in the wargame business, die and learn Angel .

How did the Nomad get eliminated in this game? I wasn't at all of his pc's and he just conquered one of mine with an invisible group (which took me by surprise). Is someone helping me against the evil alliance Smile
