Dead men walking. I (Atlantians) was hoping on Turn 7 and 8 that the Cimmerians or Black Dragons would oppose the Amazons who had the Southwest and had already taken a city in Arcania and declared Nomad enemy so going for a very quick win. I was a turn away from getting Hammerhold (had it neutralized) and likely so then the Mountains when the Black Dragon AG showed up there and the Cimmerians also making a play for the region. Thinking with three there I would go quickly for the likely empty Mists and with luck still squeak in the Mountains before the Amazons got The Sands. The Amazons took Arcania for their third region on T9 and we didn't hear about any reversals from the Nomads like gaining back a city so it did seem like Delta might not make it past T12. Also with Draugr's post I assume no one is in position to take control of a region away.
I learned a lot about Primeval in this one. What I thought was an aggressive plan wasn't aggressive enough. That and a couple mistakes (including not voting for my own HC issue) really cost. Also, I deliberately did not take the second region on T6 to not be targeted as the leader, but both the AM and NO did and not having the status points may cost me, as did that delay in redeploying emissaries. Also I couldn't find unusual sightings to save my life so didn't get my ESO.
It certainly was a different kind of game and my first go at the Atlantians. They require a unique style and I hope their results in this tournament elevate their status in the eyes of players.

So right now, Vball is in the lead to claim the 'wild card' entry into the finals. If the second place finisher of Beta exceeds 15,535, they would claim the final slot.

Congrats to Rellgar!!!
This one went on longer than I thought it would have, considering the experience that I was surrounded with and the BL and AT dropping so quickly.
Anyway, during this game I had to keep reminding myself that there was only 24 turns and to not spend too much time running after US’s.
Took my region a turn later than everyone else, but by then the AT had 3 cities under his belt. The NO and AT began their war and by turn 7 I decided to go into Oakendale. Turns out the AM and BL were already fighting there. I figured the 2 of them would keep each other busy so I shifted things to go for the Talking Mtns, but then the AT gained that region.
Meantime, I lose a General and Marshall on an US’s. Can’t seem to get this one adept to get thru the Rite.
On Turn 11 the BL position is ‘Holding for Player’ and by turn 13 the AM is attempting to declare. On turn 15 I took Amberland and the AT dropped. So there are 3 of us left. I had a brief flicker of hope when I was able to make the AM lose Oakendale, but he had people and groups in position to respond rather quickly. Meanwhile my forces where split between Oakendale and the Talking Mtns. The Mtns was slow going, although I wasn’t opposed.
Things were not working out for me in Oakendale and fortunately for me the NO was keeping the AM busy in Arcania, so I decided to move into Torvale. I had a decent bit of the region and was setting on Meridon at the end and ‘may’ have had enough flipped the region if it had gone one more turn.
I messed myself over in this game, due to changing direction too many times, based on what others were doing. It was still a good game.
Well, Rellgar....it's up to you to represent GAMMA in the final game!!!
