To Any New or Returning Player,

Confederations takes two slots.  Normal requirement is Commander Level Service.  Normally with your other game you'd need to be at Commander Level to have three slots and generally a game like this requires players of experience that are typically at least at Commander level.  Players at this level really know the ins and outs of not just their, but all kingdoms and how best to apply synergy to their two kingdoms controlled and exploit the weakness they see in other player pairs.  They don't use a sub-optimal order much less miss a turn, etc.  There is no quarter in this format.  This isn't condescending: even as the Alamaze designer, I'm probably picked to finish 6th in the sports book in Vegas with this group of pirates.

If we don't count the free game for a slot, you'll need to pay for Warrior Service and the Confederations setup.  Most importantly, we have a pretty strict code that in a multi kingdom game you don't quit as it wrecks the game.

So Dominion, if you are at all hesitant at playing at this level so quickly into being back into Alamaze, its really best to either get in Primeval or a Steel game or even Alliance with two teammates that can really help out rather than the pretty serious nature of Confederations.  I'd rather not have this one cost you as a player in Alamaze if your not quite ready.  I've made this warning to players before, they ignore it and quit the game around turn 6 and leave Alamaze after being crushed.  Just trying to avoid that.

Let's wait to hear back from Dominion before starting a draft.

Im fine with playing if you need me, you can start the draft process, but I cant start game until Wednesday at the earliest.

Told I should wait. So I am out

The message before may have read tough, so apologies.  My main concerns are not losing players that get their head handed to them in a game like Confederations or Warlords, when Primeval, Alliance and Steel are all formats that give the player a chance to breath a bit, especially Primeval.   Confederations is kind of like taking your first move in rapid chess with the board 13 moves in and you've got 15 seconds to move.  Mainly we want everyone to have a fun experience and enjoy how the game develops and that doesn't always happen in the more cut throat Confederations and early drops in a game with players controlling multiple kingdoms kill the game.

At any rate, we need one more experienced player to begin.

Am I tracking this right? Start draft Wednesday?

Dom, I think he was suggesting more experience players.  I won one of these recently and it would have most likely gone the distance but someone one missed a single crucial turn and it wiped them out.  No room for drops or mistakes they are very costly in these formats.

We need a random order.

I think we can draft at our own pace then start on Wednesday
