My turns just caught up with me. Thanks Rick and Uncle Mike.
Live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes, they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way.

Sorry for that hiccup. You know, back in the day of PBM, everyone just ran games off their own PC's.
When I got back in the biz in 2003 with Fall of Rome, we went with hosted servers, at that time, three of them. One SQL for the database, one Microsoft box for the website and forum, one Unix for the program and game processing. Over the years, it has cost more than $70,000 to have hosted servers just to prevent crashes and data loss.
So when we had that problem yesterday, now a few years after IBM bought Softlayer and the server host is no longer in Dallas, I was connected to "customer service" somewhere in India. We've all heard about call centers outsourced to India. Anyway, it was more than two hours of phone frustration, and I just kept thinking, is this better than just having my own, owned and operated servers? Would anyone even notice?
Ah, just blowing off steam. It appears the 2 games held up ran on the next day cycle. No other games were effected. Everything is good.
