A few points to cover:

1.  We (actually you - the players) should decide on specifics as to what is allowed in forum diplomacy and what is not.  This is so it is an even playing field, not some players playing by one set of assumptions and others on another on what is in the spirit of the game and what is not.  Someone might start a thread on this and everyone can vote / comment.  Again, limited diplomacy is on the honor system - the code does not / cannot address.
2.  It is correct that neither I or Mike monitor games in progress at all.  That only happens to the extent one of us has a persona in a game mainly to check out how things are going, especially after design/code updates, and then just for that position played as well as observing through universal results in that game how kingdoms are doing.  I do not enter the server for anything other than creating custom games and again, Mike is not an employee - he is paid for his development work as an independent contractor and keeps an eye on support inquiries when he can.
3.  Related to (2), we do not review turn results or explain why things happen.  There is just no time for this and with who knows how many thousands of turns processed over more than three decades and how many times players have thought there was a bug only to go, "My bad" after an investigation.  If you don't understand how something works or why something happened post on the forum and experienced players will answer.
4.  Players must not accuse another player of cheating.  This has happened a few times over the years and pretty much ends with both the accuser and the accused quitting Alamaze.  In the end, no one is happy, including yours truly.

Meanwhile, yes, have fun and respect your opponents.  Give newbs a bit of breathing room, don't be the third kingdom (or if possible even the second) to invade a foreign controlled region unless responding to an attack, or unless the kingdom attacked is in position to shortly declare victory.

He used to be a high stakes player, and he said the key to winning was not range merging and math blah blah but making the money players happy to lose. They don't care about the money- they want to have fun.

So I was thinking here, this game, have fun. Trash talk. We don't play for money, so if you lose, who cares?

Painted Man pretty clearly had this attitude, and still crushed, and I'm in a game right now where someone is picking a fight he maybe can't win? Maybe?

Let's just have fun. What is to be gained by collusion or illegal communication? Nothing.  It's a game.

And I still will meet any of you in Vegas post Covid to play some poker and drink some beers, which I love.

I can't tell if I am being insulted or complimented. Thank you? Thank you.

When it stops being fun, stop playing. The challenge is finding new ways to make it fun. The forum obviously helps because crap talking is divine. Especially with habeus and his strange fascination with scaly balls.

Try a new kingdom. Try an old kingdom played a new way. Pull a Fight Club and make it your homework to pick a fight and lose. Play the Halflings. Get a nemesis. Mine used to be Victor, but he seems to have forgotten about me. Play a persona as much as a kingdom.

Above all, realize it is a game we play for fun. It is our job to make sure it stays that way. Even if it means letting Brek attack you and only lightly spanking him because he was new at the time.

Just my ramblings. Also I love Wookie.

Love you too Mr. Paint.  This game is all about sharing the love.  Heck, with your Halfling hugs and tickles we don't even NEED enemies.

Hey, speaking of tickles, here is something fun you can do if someone tickles you.  Just say, and all in one quick sentence, ...............

Cut it out or I'll fart -too late!Smile
