Wow that was close! I was 4th in points on turn 36 and I thought I had a good chance at rex victory on the last turn. I made a big mistake on turn 38 and moved two army groups to the same town in Triumvia when one should have gone to a NE town. I also thought I would squeak out control of Pelinor on the last turn but I was about a village short in both regions. Who knew I would get it in points by about 3K?

Thanks friend. Did you borrow a page from my earlier win with AN and figure to park a group on Stormgate for much of the game? Your possible Ancient intervention spell took the Stormgate region off the table so well done on that.

Winning this one is the icing on the cake. The cake is all the great friends I have made in the almost 5 years since I started playing Alamaze. Ohman introduced me to this in August of 2016 and another old gaming friend, Rellgar had started about a month before me. Along the way there were so many that helped by answering my sometimes feeble questions and sharing their gaming resources and hard earned knowledge.
One of the biggest assets on the learning curve was playing team games with strong players and learning from them. If I try to mention them all I'm sure to miss someone so thanks to everyone that has helped me and be assured I'm trying to pay it forward by helping out the new players.

Yes, that was my thought. A brigade + the possibility for a Ancient intervention should keep Stormgate quite safe. But I did have a feeling it wouldn’t be enough points to score with only 2 regions in the end, but didn’t have the offensive capabilities to try to grab a new region either. Well, happy with 3rd place nevertheless Shy
