AN needs better companions. Rohirrim, Centaurs, Swampmen, Wood Elves, Wildlings, Pheonix? Everything they have needs Veteran or Elite. Tough in early game.
There actually should be some new companions for non evil kingdoms. Foot Knights. Men at Arms. Dryad. Hippogriff. Etc.

The Ancient Ones should get a advanced summon phantoms spell. Summoning brigades of heroes from their past!

Cannot really do that without re-programming. Hopefully we get some new Companions, but in the meantime we have to go with what we have. Currently AN get Chameleons, Great Bats, Mammoths and Scorpions.
What, out of what we have, would be the best fit?

Rohirim are an ancient sect of warriors so that sort of fits them. They dont have a great millitary but they still win a lot so I dont think they need a buff. Maybe a tweak for flavor switch the chameleons for rohirim.

Already pretty tough with specials…
rohirim, mammoth( maybe change to veteran instead of elite to get) scorpions, zealots, war machine?
Great bats and Chameleons should go imo
