In a game I am beset by enemy agents. I made one of my groups invisible, hoping that the other evil dude out there wouldn't be able to attack them because they were invisible. As invisibility comes before agent 945 orders, this should have worked. However, I liost a P6 wizard as a result. I am at a loss.

Spell #847 – Invisible Army
This spell allows the wizard's army sized (up to 10 brigades) group to become invisible
and so undetected by groups and agents alike. This is of course an excellent way to avoid
combat or surprise an unsuspecting foe. Army sized groups are the largest that can be
made invisible. Spell lasts for that month (game turn) cast
I am no expert in this area, but I expect that invisibility only protects against agent recon and not attack actions.
The other possibility is that if the agent is level 10+ then invisibility doesn't stop their mission regardless of mission type.

If someone knew you group number and a close possible location, doesn’t have to be exact, he can assassinate wiz/ leader without knowing exact location. To defeat an enemy targeting a group he has already seen, transfer all in that group to an inactive group number, he will search for a non existing group.
If it was combat, an invisible group shows up as a shimmer, someone you’re fighting could put in an attack for all 4 of your groups even not knowing which one is invisible. And still hit it while it’s invisible.

I disagree with the validity of this. I could see defending against 4 possible groups while they are invisible, but attacking something that you cannot see is wrong. I cast the spell so that there would be no target for the enemy agent to hit. If I would have known that the agent could hit something that they could not see is wrong. It reminds me of an old practice where players would randomly send emmies to spots on the map in order to find a hidden capital. That practice went out of use, but the same thing applies here as well. Defending is one thing, but attacking is another.

I didn’t say it was right or wrong, but if I’m hunting a group and I went to the last pop it was at, and I had a report of shimmering (which tells me an invisible group is there) I’m attacking all his group numbers just saying. better to take the hit on attacking multiple targets than get a surprise attack (assuming no trait to help). Imo

Shimmering is on your group report if u are next to an invisible group. You must have a P5 or greater wizard or Warlord they automatic detect the shimmering of an invisible group. It’s on pg 73 under invisible group description of rule book.

It goes by agent level. If the agent is high enough to detect an invisible group, the group being masked/ambushing/invisible provides no protection for your group. If you need to protect your group (other than non-detection as with mask/ambush/invisible), then cast Dire Wolf Familiar as well as having an agent counter-espionage action.
