I have to say, that is the first time I had a battle essentially end up in a draw. But if it is a draw, why does one side lose morale and the other doesn't? Also, why did I get fewer promotions when the battle was a draw?

Saw that, that was strange. and I promoted almost everyone. most of my losses where skeletons, looks like you also lost higher end troops. very interesting.

Yea, a draw should be no morale change for either, I would think. Or a moral loss for both. Also one side shouldn't be favored over another in promotions. I am going to bitch to Brek... :-)

                                    Tactical Selection
Determined Attack              Hold At All Costs

The 1st Deathknights morale was boosted due to the valor of the Zamoran brigades. In the
first hour of morning, the 1st Sacred Order army group rushed to attack the defensive
position of the 1st Deathknights army group under Warlord Drun Tyel. The 1st Sacred Order
group proudly led the Sacred Orders. The 1st Deathknights group proudly led the
Deathknights'. As the attackers crossed the grassy knolls, the battle began.

                                  - Long Range Missilers -

Long range missilers from both sides joined the fray and fired their arrows. The Sacred
Order forces claimed light damage upon the Deathknights lines in response, the
Deathknights caused minor losses to their enemy.

                                  - Short Range Missilers -

The short range Sacred Order effective archers and the dauntless and impressively talented
bowmen of the Deathknights force initiated their attack. The Sacred Order forces imposed
minor losses upon the Deathknights ranks and, in return, the Deathknights imposed minor
    losses against the enemy.

                                        - Magic -

Sacred Order wizards dismounted barely past where the defensive missiles were falling and
began an elaborate spell. Darian's presence was noted. Earth tremors shot forth from the
wizard. Gil Earthshaker likewise let his presence be seen in like manner. Ruth de' Cross
also had his presence be known in like fashion. Power-4 wizard Ruth de' Cross threw back
his hood and gestured in an animated fashion. A faintly visible blue shimmering began to
surround the troops and noticeably lessened the effectiveness of the arrows of the
defenders. Deathknights wizards dismounted scarcely beyond the range of defending bowmen
and began an incomprehensible spell. Kyullo Zep's presence was evident. Blinding light
shot forth from the wizard. Power-8 wizard Kyullo Zep slowly spoke in an arcane language,
gestures building to a crescendo. Sparkling colors in the sky dazzled enemy troops that
quickly turned deadly as powerful beams of colorful light tore through the enemy ranks!
Vilbom Crar also had his presence be seen in similar fashion. Power-7 wizard Vilbom Crar
incanted in a low forceful tone. A faintly visible blue shimmering began to surround the
troops and noticeably lessened the effectiveness of the arrows of the defenders. Coming
forth are a pack of Hell Hounds aiding the 1st Deathknights, breathing intense fire
through the enemy, and reeking havoc. The Sacred Order forces dealt out light damage upon
the Deathknights ranks in response, the Deathknights caused minor damage to their foes.

                                      - Artifact -

By raising Morgal Blade, Deathknights Warlord Drun Tyel infused his troops with boldness
and caused alarm in the minds of the Sacred Order leaders as the magical dagger slew enemy
forces. By raising the Morning Star of Torag, Deathknights Warlord Drun Tyel infused his
troops with boldness and caused alarm in the minds of the Sacred Order leaders as the
magical mace slew enemy forces. Waving in the wind, the Renowned Standard bolstered the
Deathknights troops with hope during the battle.

                                        - Charge -

To this point, neither side could claim a decisive advantage. Now Warlord Stanis Storm led
the Sacred Order supremely armored knights on champion chargers down upon the midnight
black clad cavalry of the Deathknights. The Sacred Order lines caused light damage upon
the Deathknights lines while the Deathknights inflicted minor casualties to their enemy.

                                        - Melee -

Though much blood had been split and the fighting had raged for hours, still victory hung
by a thread. Now the infantry of each side was committed to the battle, and the fighting
was hard and chaotic. The Sacred Order footmen advanced forward to meet the Deathknights
ground forces in close quarters. The Sacred Order forces caused light damage upon the
Deathknights ranks while the Deathknights caused minor casualties to their foes.

                                      - Combined -

Hour after hour passed, yet none could tell which side would be the victor since both
forces were evenly matched. Despite all that had preceeded at this moment, the battle
outcome was still in doubt. Now all remaining troops of all types hurled themselves into
the thick of battle to settle matters in decisive fashion. Victory had yet to take sides
in this epic struggle: Yet more hour killing hours passed, and these saw all the weary
lines of each side rejoin the contest in a final, gallant effort to triumph. The Sacred
Order entire force defied the Deathknights remaining troops for the final battle. The
Sacred Order ranks imposed significant damage upon the Deathknights forces as the
Deathknights inflicted noticable casualties to their enemy.

                                      - Conclusion -

Forces on both sides of the battlefield were exhausted and left the battle without either
side withdrawing. Sacred Order casualties were put at 35.71%. All Sacred Order leaders
survived the battle. All the Sacred Order wizards survived the fray. Earning distinction
was an Sacred Order brigade. They are now a Veteran unit. An Zealots unit was awarded
promotion to Veteran status. Losses suffered in the effort and depression of defeat have
greatly reduced morale. Deathknights casualties were put at 30.42%. All Deathknights
leaders survived the battle. Impressing his peers was Qebru, who once again has
distinguished himself. He is now a Captain. All the Deathknights wizards survived the
fray. Due to experience, victory and valor, a Veteran Deathknights brigade has been

Brek looked into this to see why the DK got so many promotions, the morale boost, etc. Before anyone gets sideways, he did not give me any unfair information or tell me anything that would be unfair. He just looked at the numbers more academically. I failed a bunch of roles for my soldiers. Bad luck. Also, the DK had more benefits from artifacts.

Maybe Brek will add the info. I take it as a gentleman's agreement that non of the information posted will be used to target or divine our character's locations. This is an academic discussion. Also, the DK being on defense gives him a bonus.
