Just sitting here, today, "admiring" the names of some of my characters that I inherited at game start from Alamaze.
What kind of a name is Sudden Seven, anyway? And an agent named Orchid? And what kind of name is Nimbus Sign for a town? Was any form of naming convention used, when crafting a lot of these names that found their way into Alamaze? Were they just formed off-the-cuff? Or were they just pretty much whatever got suggested?
While it's certainly not a top priority at the moment, I really do think that names used in Alamaze, the starting names, at least, could use a little work. I think that many of them could be improved upon. I wish that I still had my notes that I made about naming conventions, back when Rick McDowell was still early in the stage of shifting from Fall of Rome to tackling a new version of Alamaze. Those are long gone on an old hard drive, somewhere, in a dead computer I no longer have.
