Game 5703

Going after Zamora again and Triumvia at the same time?  Where is your 5th region coming from?  Probably Nyvaria since you are friendly there.

He's not hostile to the Giants or to the Red Dragon, and taking control of Nyvaria would pit him at odds with both of them, since they both have holdings in that region.

Not that it couldn't happen, but it just seems unlikely to me, and especially within the remaining four turns of this game.

You might need to come up with another theory, Dan - preferably, one with legs on it.

When you are friendly in a region that's right next door and you have a wizard kingdom it's pretty easy to flood the region with invisible Princes and flip it.  You probably don't even have to relocate your capital.

Maybe he's gonna go after Darkover, then, and not Nyvaria.

AL-DE,DK

My evil friends, I can categorically state I am not going for five regions. DK is the one most likely to do that. I just was stopping him.

If you have to know, I am going for the Valhalla wizard level record which is only 12. 12? Now that is pre-immortality, so I imagine this record will not stand for long, but, as I will write in my post game wrap up, the AL has the potential to be the richest kingdom, maybe the GN is better or the AN pre-plow nerf, but certainly the richest wizard kingdom. I think a real sneaky player like Painted Man or Senior could get a level 20 or something.

So stay away from my beakers!

AL Tome master.

I have never seen so many well developed wizards.  Power 10, 11, 12, really?  You just might pull this one off  Pine Needle.

That is quite impressive.

Glowamane's Sorcerer kingdom in Game #5684 had one P12, six P11, and two P10 wizards at game end in that game.

Missing that one turn really didn't help any. Taking a pounding from the Giants, currently.

A lack of coordination doesn't help any, as character actions get wasted, that way.

But this one is almost over, and it's been a fun game of Alamaze for me. Neither the Giants nor the Red Dragon are winning this one. I derive some consolation from that.

Just two more turns, and this one is done. Whew!

A rather predictable outcome to this turn. No real surprises. I did lose control of my home region, but I never spent much time there this whole game, anyway.

Once this one ends and I'm left with just two games of Alamaze to play, as one of them has a weekly turn schedule, that one will last quite a while, yet. The other one, I think, is on a 48 hour turn schedule, so it's progressing at a faster pace than this game, Game #5703, ran at - 50% faster!

There probably wasn't but a couple hours or so left, before I got my turn orders issued for Turn #38. But I did get them in on time, regardless. There's still eight players left in this one, after 38 turns. That's pretty good, I think, as as that's around a 67% player retention rate for the game, or two-thirds of them.

Recently, I've begun trying to make a concerted effort to learn how to play Galac-Tac. It's nothing like Alamaze, but it suffers from some of the same shortcomings that Alamaze suffers from, curiously enough.

DW - All,  my first game back to Alamaze since doing the pbm version almost 20 years ago.

Much thanks for an enjoyable game and glad to see so many players still in.  Hope to see you in other games after this one wraps.

Well met Dwarf King! You tangled with one of the best and seem to have come out ok! Good game.
